Position: Strategic Communication                

Organization: RMI India

Location: New Delhi

Your Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Support and Develop RMI India Marketing and Communications Strategy

  • Support overall marketing and communications strategy for RMI India in close collaboration with the Communications Director.
  • Provide guidance to program leaders to position, frame, and develop narratives from an audience-centric perspective.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver audience-centric marketing plans and communications campaigns for our current program initiatives that leverage diverse channels, including media relations, social/digital media, events, direct communications, partnerships, and RMI India- and partner-owned assets.

Internal and External Coordination

  • Collaborate with and leverage in-house communications capabilities (i.e., editorial, design, web, traditional and social media) and third-party agencies.
  • Coordinate communications efforts with other RMI India programs and manage internal processes to efficiently deliver relevant thought leadership, stories, and insights to targeted audiences.

Manage Execution

  • Follow and enhance RMI India processes to project manage editorial, design, and marketing processes for blogs, insight briefs, and larger reports.
  • Maintain initiative websites and social media assets with recurring updates of content.
  • Draft and complete daily news digests for program staff, quarterly newsletters, and annual reports.
  • Lead media outreach and develop regular opportunities for media engagement.
  • Proactively leverage news-making moments, milestones, outcomes, and impacts to drive awareness and interest in the program with target audiences, influencers, donors, policymakers, and decision makers.
  • Direct and guide RMI technical experts into the right conversations (media, social, other) that are shaping target audience sentiment.
  • Leverage data insights to identify and research target audiences.
  • Develop and report against metrics of success and track activities against outcomes and impact.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, communications, marketing, or related field and/or appropriate combination of education and significant experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in communications disciplines, with clear experience in developing communications strategies and leading successful campaigns
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and complex projects
  • Tight project and task management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at the intersection of communications and policy
  • Prior experience as a journalist or in a media organization
  • Experience creating digital media content
  • Proficiency with software such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, and MS Office
  • Interest in clean energy, climate change, climate policy and action, or the broader clean energy transition
  • Experience marketing to diverse channels and ability to communicate and tailor messaging to a diverse audience, including policy and industry stakeholders
  • Proven career and successful track record of strategic marketing and communications efforts
  • Logical, structured writer, with excellent editorial skill and high attention to detail
  • Ability to identify the best angle for written content and craft key messages
