INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
FOREST RIGHTS AND GOVERNANCE PROJECT
TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, MUMBAI
The Centre for Science, Technology, and Society (CSTS) of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai invites applications from students to intern with the forest rights and governance project. The selected interns will be assigned to document the best practices in the implementation of the forest rights act in Maharashtra, Odisha, and Gujarat. The selected interns will work closely with local NGOs in their intervening areas to process the implementation of the forest rights act.

Amravati District, Maharashtra
Kalahandi District, Odisha
Narmada District, Gujarat

Tasks and responsibilities for the selected interns

  • Conduct fieldwork for the assigned tasks
  • Document best practices on individual and community forest rights
  • Document the role of intervening local NGO in the implementation of the forest rights act
  • Prepare a policy brief based on the field insights

Who can apply?
Only those students can apply who:
1. are available for a fulltime internship
2. can start the internship between 15th February to 1st March 2021
3. are available for 2-3 months
4. have relevant knowledge and interests in the field of forest rights and governance
5. read and understand the local language
6. good writing and analysis skill

Remuneration for the internship work
A consolidated amount of Rs. 12,000 per month will be paid
A lump sum amount of Rs. 5000 per month will be paid for fieldwork and local expenses
