About the opportunity
Svarya is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team of consultants. We work with leading change makers to design and implement novel solutions to social issues. Since 2016, we have engaged with leaders of 50+ organizations across the development sector, through sector research, organization development and custom solutions. Svarya’s clients include Oak Foundation, Growald Family Fund, Children Investment Fund Foundation, British Asian Trust, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, Ashoka University and Naz Foundation. 

Svarya has worked on the following kinds of engagements. Candidates with interest or experience in these or related areas are encouraged to apply.

• Business / strategic planning for organizations and networks
• Landscape research, interviews, consultations and analysis
• Design and facilitation of collaboratives
• Creation of tools and resources for Organization Development (OD)
• OD interventions such as on leadership, team culture, risk management, etc.
• Impact assessment for philanthropic foundations
• Learning sessions for cohorts of social organizations

Responsibilities

• Support projects as part of a consulting team; many projects will involve working directly with decision makers at funding organizations, social organizations and intermediaries Build strong relationships with external stakeholders by communicating regularly and establishing
• rapport.
• Conduct research and analysis on policies, programs, activities, and innovations. Research may
• include on-line data collection, literature reviews, surveys, and interviews

• Provide project management support through preparation of progress reports for clients,
• organizing project files, and time and budget tracking
• Support all aspects of meeting design and facilitation, including scheduling, notes, meeting
• summaries, agendas, and background materials
• What Svarya is looking for
• 4-6 years of work experience, some of which is in client-facing roles in the development sector
• Understanding of stakeholders in the development sector - social organizations, government,
• funding organizations, intermediaries, etc.
• Ability to interact directly with external and internal stakeholders in a friendly, respectful and
• professional way
• Ability to work as part of a team that is geographically distributed
• Ability to work under tight timelines with multiple and overlapping tasks, and to work in
• situations requiring self-direction and initiative
• Commitment to quality of deliverables
• Analytical, problem solving, and planning skills
• Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies
