Position: Technical Assistant and Research Assistant

Location: Mumbai
1, Technical Assistant:
A native Marathi speaking graduate with working knowledge in English and with advanced level skill in computation and digitization of 2-D objects are the basic requirements for the project. Some prior experience in archiving and/or digital preservation will carry additional weightage for selection.
2. Research Assistant:
A native Marathi speaking post-graduate or doctoral student in history, literature, sociology, political science or any other relevant discipline with fluency in English and working knowledge in Hindi, knowledge in working with spreadsheets and computing Unicode scripts are the basic requirements for this position. A diploma or certificate in Library and Information Sciences would be an asset. Knowledge in MARC21 or Dublin Core besides the basic requirements would be an asset for the project. The applicant should have knowledge in modern Indian history, the history of freedom struggle, Indian history after independence and caste politics in Maharashtra and in India in general.
Duration:
All selected candidates, except the outstanding candidates may be offered initially a onemonth probation, and on successful completion of the probation the service can be extended for another five months with a higher compensation. On completion of that tenure, if the project management find the candidate an asset and if the candidate is willing to move to other places within Maharashtra then the service tenure may be extended accordingly.
Compensation:
Compensation is strictly on the basis of merit, however the minimum compensation is outlined here as an illustration, the position 1 may get Rs. 20,000 as basic compensation per month and also entitled for A1 city allowance not exceeding 50% of the basic compensation. Similarly the position 2 may get Rs. 30,000
