Position: Research Analyst
Organization: Lovedale Foundation
Location: Bangalore
Researching topics independently, compiling data, and presenting information both orally, visually and in writing.
Conducting independent analyses using appropriate analytical tools, research methods, and best practices.
To perform non-profit research globally.
Identify potential grant making organizations nationally and internationally
Write high quality drafts of working papers and presentations
Conducts literature reviews of material from conferences and seminars, government documents, academic journals and policy publications, institutional databases, and reports.
Supports with drafting, editing and proof reading of research reports, policy briefs, articles, blogs, and other published materials.
Contributes to grant-writing activities, in coordination with program staff and scholars.
Corresponds with collaborating researchers in other institutions.
To Works with the program’s web site coordinator to maintain strategic oversight of the content of project-specific web pages and publications as needed.
Other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Any Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Global Development, Sustainable Development, International Affairs, Public Policy, or related field strongly preferred. Strong academic record essential, having excelled at econometrics and statistical coursework. Minimum of two years of work experience in research and quantitative data analysis, potentially including previous experience working as a research assistant /grant writer
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Proficiency in internet is required, with experience and confidence. Desired
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired.
Ideal candidate can build on methods to advance tool sets and techniques. Candidates should also be knowledgeable of, global market for non-profit and have keen interest in trade, poverty reduction, global sustainable development, and global economic issues.
Good written and verbal command over English Language. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are important for the role. Ability and willingness to organize information, undertake research assignments with minimal supervision, work well under pressure with discretion and mature judgement, collaborate with diverse colleagues, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment are all essential.
