Position: Lead Maker

Position Details: Lead Maker
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate workshops and training for students in areas including making, tinkering, innovation, problem-based learning, design thinking, and rapid prototyping.
- Supervise and facilitate student participation in the maker space for classes and independent projects.
- Maintain the machines, tools, materials, safe use, and schedule of the maker space.
- Manage maker space inventory and order equipment and materials required for classes and projects.
- Coordinate collaboration and partnerships with other maker spaces, industry experts, and organizations.
- Brainstorm and discuss ideas with the program design team and produce creative and innovative design concepts.
- Create operational manuals and safety procedures for machine operation.
- Conduct training for machine handling and operation for facilitators.
- Any other work as required by the Programming Director, Senior Management, Museum Director and Founder
Essential prerequisites :
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as engineering, design, or education.
● 4+ years of experience working in a makerspace, educational or equivalent environment.
● Experience with design thinking and rapid prototyping tools (3D printers, CNC/Laser cutters/ 2D/3D design software), materials, and techniques.
● Strong technical skills in Electronics, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, IoT
● Coding experience, particularly with Arduino and Scratch
● Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment and materials.
● Passion for working with children and enabling them to learn through hands-on, interactive experiences
● Knowledge of safety procedures for makerspaces.
