Qualification, Experience and desired skills:
● Qualification: Post Graduate in social science/ management or any other relevant subject.
● Experience: 6 years of professional experience in working on community development projects focused on forestry & biodiversity, livelihood, community development, institutional development etc. preferably in any NGO, government or externally aided projects.
● Good communication, documentation and writing skills
● Written and verbal fluency in English and Hindi with additional verbal proficiency in Garo.
● Patient listener with ability to work in a diverse team and under challenging field conditions
Job Responsibilities
● Train, assist and supervise the Local Resource Persons (LRPs) on community mobilization, organize communities for planning exercise, mapping of Community Conserved Areas
● Prepare monthly work plan in close coordination with project team to accomplish tasks on time.
● Participate in capacity building programs for orientation, skill up-gradation and expertise.
● Organize scoping visits and interact with the different CCA/landscape stakeholders to understand the context and build rapport and relationships.
● Organize workshops and assist in the preparation of CCA Management plan/landscape conservation plan with CCA/landscape stakeholders.
● Ensure participation of all stakeholders especially the women and other disadvantaged groups in community meetings, workshops and trainings
● Drafting, review and finalization of CCA Management Plans and Landscape Management Plan in coordination with the project team
● Organize, review and plan finalization meetings/discussion with the CCA and landscape stakeholders to incorporate their suggestions, modify accordingly and receive approval from the concerned community institutions.
● Establish and develop good mutual understanding, cooperation and trust between the project team and the target communities.
● Prepare monthly progress reports in accordance with the project requirements.
● Any other work/ assignment arising as part of the project.
