KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sector Strategy

• Track major sector level developments to assist designing a comprehensive multiyear sector strategy to address critical impediments;
• Conduct research and analysis around follow-on opportunities identified by Programme Lead and those proposed by the partners, to establish their relevance
• Develop the Concept Notes for discussion in Weekly Programme Team Meetings
• Draft Terms of Reference for issuance of Request for Proposals (RFPs) to the Consultants
• Develop annual project portfolio plan capturing potential project activities corresponding to various strategic priorities;
• Coordinate with Programme Lead and prospective partners, on project proposal development from concept stage onwards

Programme Management

• Provide technical input for research studies and implementation plan for the same
• Conduct specific research studies related to the projects
• Collate and analyse data collected from various sources
• Develop written outputs from research initiatives, including reports and articles, media pieces and explainers
• Prepare powerpoint presentations for each study for sharing with relevant stakeholders
• Coordinate and work with partners to track progress
• Coordinate with Programme Lead and Finance Team to ensure adherence to reporting and payment schedules of planned programme activities

Stakeholders Engagement

• Engage with Government officials to explore opportunities to collaborate by offering them critical outcomes from the programme portfolio
• Through ongoing dialogue, support relevant stakeholders in usage of project specific outcomes towards design and implementation of sector specific policies
• Collaborate with a wider network of likeminded institutions to leverage their expertise
• Provide programmatic inputs to Communications for brochures, newsletter, and website
• Develop concept notes and proposals to respond to specific opportunities identified by the Head – Donor Engagement & Fundraising

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Transport Planning, Electrical Engineering, or related stream from a reputed university / institute
• 7 – 10 years of experience that should range from formulating strategies, policy analysis and programme management
• Knowledge and expertise of India’s transportation policies, including those related to transportation electrification
• Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders including government officials, civil society organisations, funding agencies, research institutions, national and international think tanks, and representatives from private sector organisations
• Excellent written, verbal communications, and presentation skills;
• Ability to groom and lead a team of professionals
• Drive, Commitment and Ownership for the delegated responsibilities;
