How your day will unfold:
The Intern, Urban Climate Resilience will undertake the following managerial work
• Surveying of selected sites for developing green spaces
• Discussion with stakeholders including local leaders, ward councilors, residence associations, NGOs and institutions for developing sites and maintenance
• Develop innovative implementation models to incorporate maximum public/stakeholder participation
• Extensive co-ordination of work on ground for landscape development
• Support selection of tree species for planting at site
• Regular field visits for monitoring developed green spaces
• Documentation of landscape development process including a photo library
• Submit daily update report to the project manager
• Execution of any other managerial work as part of the Cities4Forests program in Kochi as and when required
Qualifications and Requirements we seek:
• Graduation (pursuing also)
• Ability to communicate fluently in Malayalam
• Background in Botany, Forestology, Engineering or Environmental Science is highly recommended.
• Hands-on experience in execution of projects is highly recommended
• Demonstrated ability to work extensively on on-ground
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
• Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• General awareness of environment and climate domain – key issues, events and updates
• Excellent/ Strong research, interpersonal/ written/ communication skills
• Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work calmly and enthusiastically under high pressure and rough field conditions
• Ability to co-ordinate team work at field level
• Ability to think creatively
Stipend: 25000 Per Month
