Position: Education Program Manager

Specific duties & responsibilities:
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, collaborative individual to provide core in-country support in numerous areas of education and training initiatives for the MCHI. Potential activities include contributing to the development of coursework materials and learning aides; researching effectiveness and application of leading digital learning technologies; backstopping logistical and investigative activities pertaining to the creation of a novel curriculum and competency framework for the MCHI; supporting monitoring and evaluation activities related to learning outcomes; and helping to manage and troubleshoot the MCHI LMS platform. This staff person will support the establishment and ongoing growth and management of a set of diverse courses in collaboration with a range of partners in India. These courses may be offered in English or Hindi, for a range of audiences from public health researchers to frontline government health staff. In addition to tasks related to course development and delivery on the platform, this staff person will hold a key role in supporting an ongoing monitoring and evaluation strategy, including utilizing data generated through the LMS to support ongoing course improvement.
The staff person will report directly to Svea Closser, and work closely with the MCHI leadership (PI, Anita Shet, and other senior advisors), the JHU Education Coordinator (Emily Miller), the JHU-MCHI project team, as well as our partners in India. The aims of this staff position include:
1. Supporting the development of MCHI courses and training materials and activities
a. Prepare, write and edit content for coursework materials and other learning aides
b. Contribute to content development for courses (literature reviews, drafting text content, interview questions for experts)
c. Research guidelines and best practices from institutions such as MOHFW, WHO and translating materials into creative, engaging content
d. Expand the kinds of learning tools and assessments that MCHI can provide within courses (e.g. data visualizations, graphic design, gamification, animation, other strategies for learner engagement)
e. Provide facilitation and logistical, administrative support for in-person training and workshops
2. Engage with and support partners in India for the development of the Maternal and Child Health Infectious Diseases (MCH-ID) Scholar Program
a. Liaise with faculty, learners, and other key stakeholders; coordinate meetings, and provide as-needed administrative and logistical support for in-country partners
b. Communicating with researchers, partners, and other experts in for coursework development and other capacity strengthening activities
c. Co-serve as the primary point of contract to support partner research institutions, learners, and MCH-ID scholars
d. Support research activities within the MCH-ID Scholar program
3. Manage and problem solve digital learning technologies
a. Optimize content delivery on the learning platform
b. Serve as the first line of technical support to faculty and learners on the digital learning platform, and other course activities such as live sessions, discussion forums, and others.
4. Contribute to MCHI strategy and learning, including:
a. Support/lead development of curriculum documents, reports, and publications related to MCHI capacity strengthening experience
b. Support monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, data collection and analysis/reporting from course evaluations, utilize findings from M&E activities to improve education and training activities
5. Additional tasks related to curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation as the MCHI expands
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
• Masters Degree in public health, education or a relevant field.
• Must have at least one year of experience working in a professional setting and supporting technical activities related to educational programs.
• Fluency in spoken and written Hindi and English
• Must be based in India and willing to travel within India as needed
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience, and/or education in public health or maternal and child health highly preferred.
• Experience working with digital technologies, such as LMS platforms, SCORM technologies, animation, – both in terms of innovative content development and administration—would be highly valued
• Experience or certifications in Instructional Design highly valued

• Should have familiarity with global health equity and sustainable development
• Should have an interest in working with adult learners/trainees
• Should have an interest in curriculum development on online platforms
• Should have advanced technological competence and ability to learn and navigate a range of course features and online learner engagement approaches as well as support individual users with technological difficulties
• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills in English; high comfort level writing and presenting data and information in a compelling way to different audiences.

• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and ideally some website/LMS management
• Survey development and evaluation tool development skills are preferred
