About the Position:
The Communications department at Ummeed plays a pivotal role in building awareness in the developmental disabilities space. It works on creating and disseminating information about Ummeed, its services and the disability sector through critical, creative and innovative collaterals and documentation. This also includes augmenting Ummeed’s awareness across social media channels and maintaining a dynamic website.
The role of the Assistant Manager – Communications team member would be to support the team in building this awareness. He/she will work on delivering projects end to end with tight deadlines, while he/she will work independently on several tasks, the candidate will be mentored by senior team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Understand Ummeed’s work and programs so as to be able to write about them in an impactful way.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Graduate or Post Graduate in any stream with 2 to 4 years’ experience in Communications and Social Media
· We are looking for a smart and enthusiastic individual who has excellent writing skills and good proofreading skills, who is a keen and quick learner with a zest to add value to Ummeed’s operations and mission, with the ability and willingness to concertedly understand and grow in their knowledge of the developmental disabilities space
· Unhesitant to get his/her hands dirty and hit the ground running
Essential Skills Required:
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with different teams
o Strong organizational skills Attention to detail
o Self-Starter, tech savvy
o Knowledge and expertise in social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, You Tube, and Instagram.
o Fluency in English

· Photography/videography, video editing, and graphic design skills
· Fluency in Hindi
