Position: Programme Associate

Location: Mizoram (Aizawl) and Sikkim (North and South- 2 vacancies)
Job Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation of the Learning Enhancement Programme in Sikkim/ Mizoram
• Visit project schools to meet stakeholders such as head teachers and students.
• Observe teaching sessions in classrooms to assess teaching quality and identify any concerns of teacher.
• Conduct meetings with Village Panchayat and community to make them aware about the quality of education and to take the vision of Learning Enhancement forward.
• Establish relationships with local NGOs and establish collaborations with them to implement the programme effectively.
• Coordinate research including assessing the learning levels of students and evaluating classroom practices of teachers conducted by the research agency.
• Coordinate and organize training session with stakeholders such as head teachers and teachers.
• Provide inputs to State Programme Manager for reporting the Programmatic progress on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Document activities, events and meetings for the purpose of project update
• Liaise with the Block, District and State authorities as well as schools.
• Periodically report to the District Education Officers of the progress of the programme.
• Work closely with other state teams to ensure high quality and on time implementation of the programme.
Requirements:
• 1-2 years’ experience of implementing Education / Health programmes on the ground.
• NGO experience will be an added benefit.
• Must know the English and local language.
• Should be local residents.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor degree compulsory.
• B. Ed. will be an added advantage.
• Willing to travel.
• Willing to work in flexible hours.
• Possesses patience and sense of humour.
• Possesses negotiation skills.
