Position: Senior Programme Officer

Organization: PRIA

The candidate will be required to:

Identify and design high impact research areas on urban resilience and climate change
Undertake research studies (desk-based and field-based) and communicate research findings to the stakeholders
Represent PRIA’s work on urban resilience and climate change in various national and international platforms
Build a professional network with practitioners, academia, media and policymakers
Design and lead high impact field-based programme on urban resilience and climate change.

Competencies Required:

• Thorough understanding of urban resilience, climate change (adaptation and mitigation strategies) and sustainable development
• A team player having ability to work independently under given timelines
• Strong research and analytical skills – ability to quickly absorb wide-ranging materials, analyse information and produce high-quality reports
• Excellent skills in doing research with the community and other stakeholders
• Excellent inter-personal, networking and communication skills
• Strong verbal and writing skills in English

Qualification and Experience:

Master’s degree in Environmental Policy/Science, Urban Planning or related subject

• Minimum of 4-5 years of work experience on urban resilience and climate change issues
