Position: Qualitative Researcher - FMCH Anganwadi Study

About the Project:
FMCH works with ~250 Anganwadis in Mumbai across Kurla & Bhiwandi. We’re looking to undertake a qualitative study to understand FMCH's impact on the Anganwadi system and the Anganwadi Workers’ perceptions on our work through focussed group discussions. The scope of the project will include the design of guidelines for the study, collection of data and analysis of data.
Expected Milestones & Deadlines:
● Study Design: Oct 30th
● Data collection: Nov 20th
● Preliminary Analysis: Nov 30th
● Final Analysis & Project Closure: Dec 7th
Remuneration: Negotiable based on experience
Responsibilities
1. Develop the design of the study including guidelines for conducting FDGs, choice of groups, note taking mechanisms etc.
2. Collect data through FDGs or train on-ground staff to conduct FDGs and collect data in person (& monitor the data collection)
3. Conduct data cleaning to ensure reliable & authentic data.
4. Analyse & share preliminary findings with the FMCH team.
5. Put together a report based on the study findings.
Skills & Qualifications
● M.Phil or equivalent degree/work experience with prior experience in conducting qualitative research
● Ability to understand & communicate in Hindi & (preferably) Marathi
● Good written, verbal communication and facilitation skills
● Exposure and/or passion for using data in the development space or in the Public Health sector
● The ability to plan work, problem solve and meet deadlines in an uncertain, fast-paced environment
