Position: Documentation & MIS Officer

Key Accountabilities: To be responsible for overall MIS and documentation of the project through development of proper monitoring and evaluation frame work, planning for periodic reviews and providing feedback for improvement. The following is the overall job description of the Documentation & MIS Officer

Program implementation:

• To undertake process documentation pertaining to student’s assessment, training of teachers and anganwadis workers, system strengthening and institutional development activities at BRC/DIET, enrolment and attendance of students in school etc.

• Support the program in building a robust and effective MIS system to improve education governance in the focused districts. Provide analytics support for building evidences for advocacy work towards streamlining of neighbourhood schools and anganwadis centres.

• Conduct training and capacity building activities with the implementation team to roll out the program MIS and generate quality data from time to time.

• Ensure collection and compilation of data pertaining to different domains of the program on regular basis and ensure effective record keeping at the program level with documentation of reports in Odia as well as in English.

• Visits to schools/anganwadis centres to cross validate the project level MIS records, assessment data and parameters of demonstration Schools and Anganwadi centers.

• Support in the internal and external assessments and evaluation process and support the field team on the same.

• Support the program lead in preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual programmatic reports and MIS updates for donor compliance and documentation of records, meeting minutes, paper clipping, activity photograph, case studies etc.

• Undertake any other specific activity or assignment towards overall system strengthening and improvement of school and anganwadis governance, or building a tech-based data system

Qualifications

• Master Degree in Education / Social Science /Data Management or relevant academic streams.

Experience

• At least 4-to-5 years of in quality documentation, research and MIS management activity pertaining to development programs and specific experience in education related program will be preferred.

• Experience of working in system strengthening activity in collaboration with government will be an added advantage.

Other requirements

• Good skills in written and oral communication in Odia and English.

• Proficiency in MS OFFICE (word, Excel and Power point) is a must.
