Position: Project Officer

Key Accountability :
1. To identify sector and geography specific needs within the assigned 'Theme of Engagement.
2. To design a program to address the identified needs within the strategic framework as approved by the Board of Trustees.
3. To facilitate timely approval and implementation of the program.
4. To monitor the implementation of the program to ensure that the qualitative and quantitative objectives of the program are met in a timely manner.
5. Actively engage and supervise the implementation of various projects, including developing work plans and tracking progress, designing and implementing improvements to existing systems.
6. Manage key NGO partners and programs.
7. Contribute to design, monitoring and evaluation of programs in coordination with the NGO partners.
8. Provide administrative support for proposal production and work plan formulations
9. Assesses initial drafts of budget; monitor their implementation.
10. Monitors project executed by partners and consultants; and support their work.
11. Document and reports program progress by seeking progress and expenditure reports from the NGO partners at various intervals.
12. Domestic work travel to project locations as a part of project monitoring.
Brief Job Description
1. Define strategic framework for the theme and lead the theme or subtheme in all geographical areas as per the need and approved plan
2. Research and identify gaps, Conduct a gap analysis.
3. Define deliverables for themes and for focused geographical programs. Help in monitoring the same
4. Develop the intervention design and project implementation plan.
5. Develop a pool of expertise. Help Regional managers and area managers develop expertise on theme implementation. Develop internal capabilities
6. Build systemic and sustainable processes within the program design
7. Regularly evaluate implementation activities to research and feed learnings into program design
8. Ensure convergence with other sub-themes / portfolios of the Trusts to enable impact on quality-of-life indicators
9. Define the advocacy agenda, in coordination with the policy advocacy team, and work closely with the Central and State Governments to impact policy
10. Represent the Trusts on national, global and government forums.
a) Postgraduate (MSW) preferred
b) Work experience of at least 5 years in NGO
c) Willingness to travel to various grantee program locations
d) Strong analytical skills
e) Very good communication skills – verbal and written
