About the Project:
The Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, pioneered by Ekjut, has produced encouraging outcomes in improving newborn care related practices and reducing Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR). This approach has been recommended by WHO and also by National Health Mission, Government of India for 10 Indian states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar where this project is conceptualized. This project will assess the PLA model in the focus geographies, more specifically in three districts each in both states. The context in the two states is different compared to the context of Jharkhand and Odisha where the approach has been scientifically evaluated and scaled up in different states like Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh through government system. This project is designed to set up the work in an implementation research mode and scale based on the results of the assessment phase at a later stage.
About the Position:
The Project Coordinator (PC) support state teams to ensures the effective management of project across result areas in the state of Bihar and UP. H/she will lead the programme and operations in the both states and will collaborate with the head of organization and technical experts. H/She will establish close collaboration with the programme technical units, operations team and substantively contributes to the management, coordination and quality assurance of the project that includes planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
Educational Qualifications:
Post Graduate degree from any reputed Institution/ Universities preferably in management studies, social development etc.
Work Experience:
Should have a minimum 10 years work experience in the relevant field.
Familiarity with the development sector, particularly public health, will be an advantage.
