UNIQUE CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
1. To envision, shape and design the growing finance and operations team and work of
Haiyya systems, legalities, culture, bookkeeping, practices and policies with strong
quality and values control, keeping Haiyya’s sustainability as the goal
2. To build a strong, skilled and values-driven finance and operations team including
Haiyya staff, key vendors and experts
3. To oversee and manage overall financial flow, accounting, bookkeeping for the
organization including income, expenses, payroll functions, inventory, assets and
banking.
4. To create and streamline systems to manage all grant and funding budgets, funder
financial information, compliances and reporting
5. To oversee, streamline and manage overall Haiyya’s compliances, legal charter of
duties & regulations and documentation of the same
6. To lead the strengthening of legal, digital and physical safety infrastructure work of
Haiyya’s work, it’s team and community
7. Oversee the annual audit, in full compliance with generally accepted accounting
principles and funder requirements
8. Facilitate and develop a clear financial plan that is consistent with the organization’s
strategic programs, goals and initiatives - yearly and long-term
9. Provide monthly, quarterly and half-yearly financial reporting and analysis of financial
statements, budgets, source/use of funds to the CEO and Board (as required)
10. To be part of fundraising and business development work from financial projection,
budget development and proposal building lens
11. To look after office management (physical and remote functions), team needs, staff
benefits, insurance and team cultural needs
12. To lead all staff hirings and deliver results by working closely with SLT, operations and
other team members
13. To coordinate and ensure new policies, culture, team ritual and team development
spaces in the organization to make Haiyya a progressive organization to work in
14. To oversee and manage all board and governance compliances, process and timelines
in the organization to ensure the organizational leadership is liasoning well with board
accountability and work.
WHAT SKILLS, BEHAVIOUR AND QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
● You’re passionate, mission and values driven to lead Haiyya’s finance and operational
work
● You have 5-10 years of educational and work experience in finance and operations
work, out of which you have proven track record of working with nonprofits
● You’re flexible, strategic, creative and entrepreneurial when approaching your role
and day to day job
● You are looking at dedicating the next phase of your career journey to serve the social
impact sector
● You know Indian financial and legal landscape from your gut and are well-versed in
NGO laws, compliances and requirements
● You know how to build systems, structures and processes from the ground up and can
come up with new and innovative ideas to reshape work
● You’re an adaptive leader who’s capable of inspiring, convening, managing and
motivating teams
● You have strong organisational management, planning and work organizing skills
● You have excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary,
diverse, and dynamic young team
● You are able to analyse, multitask, prioritize and given attention to details
● You are technologically savvy and well versed with working on MS-office, tech based
interfaces and platforms for operations requirements
● You keep all organizational information confidential and respect non-disclosure areas
of the organisation
● You are able to anticipate needs/gaps/opportunities, and make thoughtful decisions
on what is important and what is urgent and adapt your work accordingly
● You are able to work under pressure and urgent deadlines governed by external
factors
COMPENSATION:
This will be a full-time role and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experiences you
have in alignment with Haiyya’s competitive and equitable wage policy, which will fall in the
range of 60,000 to 95,000 INR per month.
