Role of Alumni Manager:

• ISD conducts three flagship programs: The Good Politician, Democracy Express and She Represents.
• The gestation period in politics is really high and one of our commitments is to provide 5-10 years of support to all our alumni, as they shape their political journeys.
• As Alumni Manager, your role is to ensure that they have regular touchpoints with ISD, have spaces for peer support and collaboration and most importantly, ISD can help them in finding opportunities to strengthen their political work.
• This is very different from a placement cell of a college, as we see our participants as political entrepreneurs.
• Our role as an organization is to support them in anyway that they want us to, years after they have finished the program.
• As an organisation ISD wants to build a strong team while ensuring team’s personal growth.
• At this point, we need someone who is ready to commit 4-5 years in this role, to build the institution.

In your role as Alumni Manager, you will work on:
Partnerships:
● Build short and long term partnerships with political parties - local, regional, national
● Engagement and Communications management with all external political partners
● Scope out progression of partnerships with relevant players in the field
● Map out a strategy of engaging with Independents and influential role models, who our
alumni can work with
● Create multiple engagement opportunities for ISD programs and participants

● Maintain a national database of political opportunities and match them to relevant
alumni
● Gather inputs and programmatic feedback from the field and contribute to overall org
design.
Facilitation and mentorship:
● Hold sessions and facilitation alumni spaces for peer learning
● Conduct leadership and professional development sessions for alumni- virtual and
physical
● Shadow field work of alumni to give them coaching, mentorship and ecosystem
connects
● Develop a feedback system to gauge needs of wider alumni community and a tech
platform for regular interactions
Qualifications and Skills:
● 5-6 years of full-time professional experience
● Atleast 2 years of experience in building and strengthening groups and communities is a
must
● Proficiency in database management and creation
● Political knowledge and interest in democractic processes strongly preferred
● Experience in small group and large group facilitation
● Strong communication skills in English & Hindi, one more Indian language will be an
added benefit
● Attention to detail, process orientation and working in uncertainty
● Conscientious, disciplined, committed to rigor in all aspects of work
● Entrepreneurial, frugal with the ability to give and receive feedback
● Ability and willingness to work with people from across the political spectrum
Location: Based in New Delhi
Compensation: Remuneration will be based on competency and we will be building ISD
together. Salary range for this role will be 7-8 lakhs per annum to begin with. We are hoping you
grow with the organization, and we will revise salaries as we grow.
