The Program Lead will report to the CEO at Project DEFY. They will be responsible for implementation, project management, and partnership building of the 2 programs - DISPECS and ETC (everything creative). The Program Lead would need to manage the project overall including defining timelines, managing partners and stakeholders, coordinating with different team members to clear dependencies, and defining and managing the budget and finances. DISPECS (DIsaster PreparEd Community Spaces) is a program in disaster preparedness with the vision of making communities around the globe self-reliant in the face of a disaster, whereas ETC (Everything Thing Creative) is a program designed for university students to help them find creative ways of problem-solving and define their own learning journeys. The Program Lead will be leading both of these programs. Additionally, the Program Lead will also support the global internship program for college students, called DASH - DEFY Academy for Solution Hacking, and actively contribute to the execution, implementation, and smooth coordination of the event.

Duration:

The role will be a consulting contract renewable at the end of 12 months from starting date based on mutual discussion.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead the implementation and project management of two programs at DEFY- Disaster management project (DISPEC) and a university program (ETC) by liasioning with various partners, members, and communities.

● Lead program design for DISPECS and .etc as and when required

● Create the execution strategy for both programs.

● Represent DEFY and communicate our needs and requirements to partners and funders while also being answerable for our commitments.

● Launch a self-design learning space program (ETC.) for Indian university students to help them explore creative art and technology and solve local problems.

● Prepare the relevant marketing materials along with the communication team to secure prospective partners and funders.

● Program-manage the execution timelines for both programs.

● Manage the team with planning and operations of DEFY’s annual internship program (DASH) for college students.

● Work closely with student teams and mentors during the above program to help the former in their problem-solving journeys.

● Create internal and external reports for various stakeholders.

● Lead the documentation of DISPEC and ETC and support the program lead of DASH for documentation and report writing.

1.Job-Related:

• Prior project management experience in a leadership position is required.
•  Proven track record in leading projects and teams in complex environments and diverse contexts, with multiple partners involved. Entrepreneurial experience is a big plus.
• Proven ability to work well with a variety of business and corporate contacts.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a heavy workload with a high degree of adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and to effectively work on and manage multiple tasks.
• Must perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to facilitate sessions and discussions for students and team members on a diverse range of topics.

 2.Leadership:

•  Prior experience in leading a team is highly preferred
• Ability to deal with and navigate through uncertainty
• Must be a strong team player with the ability to establish effective working relationships with peers and superiors
• Good in persuasive communication and conflict resolution skills

3.Social Sector inclination:

• Passionate towards contributing to the development sector and the social impact space.
• Background in the education and alternate education sector is required.
• Prior experience in working with marginalized communities is a big plus.

4.Technical:

• Familiarity with Project Management tools, e.g - Clickup, Asana, Trello, etc. is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of relevant software, including MS Office - Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
• Familiarity with web based design tools (e.g Canva) and other website management/social media tools
• Experienced in documentation - report generation and creating SoPs and operation documents.
• Basic knowledge in budget and finance planning and management.
• Familiarity with the tenets of Design Thinking

5.Soft Skills:

• Strong fluency in the English language, with clear articulation of thoughts and requirements when representing the organization in front of partners/ funders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters
• Demonstrated relationship-building skills, positive and proactive attitude

Compensation:

INR 7.2 lacs CTC
