National Operations Lead

REACH is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against Tuberculosis (TB), with offices in Chennai and New Delhi. As part of the upcoming Global Fund grant to India for 2021-24, REACH will implement Unite to ACT (Amplifying Community Action for TB elimination) as a sub-recipient to the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics India (FIND India).The goal of the Unite to ACT project is to accelerate efforts towards TB elimination in India by unifying and scaling up community action for TB through a cohesive community-led response. The project will be implemented in 10 states, with an additional 15 states receiving technical assistance for community engagement.

 

For the Unite to ACT project, REACH is currently recruiting for multiple positions for the National Programme Management Unit, based in New Delhi

  • National Monitoring & Evaluation Lead (one position)
  • National Operations Lead (two positions)
  • Programme Associate – Communications (one position)
  • Programme Associate – M&E (one position)

2. National Operations Lead (two positions) 

The National Operations Leads will work under the supervision of the Project Lead to provide  comprehensive programmatic support to the project and will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of all project activities in direct implementation states as well as states managed by SSRs. The ideal candidate(s) will be an excellent writer, creative thinker, resourceful problem solver, and a highly productive worker who delivers high quality work consistently and on a timely basis. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Project Lead to plan and implement the project activities and achieve the project results
  • Providing inputs into the development of work plans for the project in all 3 states managed by REACH
  • Overseeing the roll-out of national and state-level activities, in coordination with the state teams, in accordance with the project work plan
  • Supervising the state units in these states for carrying out the activities as per the work plan
  • Working in close coordination with the M&E team to generate high-quality data, reports and other information, as required
  • Working in close coordination with the communications team to provide inputs to the development of materials, as required
  • Reviewing and analysing project specific plans and priorities, reports and other relevant information
  • Supporting the Project Lead and finance team in budget preparation, monitoring of expenditures and related tasks for programme activities and interventions
  • Coordinating with Central TB Division and with state health officials in designated states to ensure the smooth implementation of the project
  • Drafting reports as required based on project activities and providing inputs to all reports to the PR and Global Fund
  • Undertaking supportive supervision visits to all states
  • Participate in strategic conversations with stakeholders as assigned.
  • Representing the organisation and project at meetings, conferences and other events.
  • Any other as assigned

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Masters degree in Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, International Relations or related field with at least 10 years of progressively responsible management experience in health and development sector at the national level
  • Considerable experience in the health sector, especially in the implementation of TB programs at the national/state level
  • Strong programme management experience, preferably in health and TB
  • Experience in implementing ambitious community engagement projects related to public health in India (desirable).
  • Exemplary analytical, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills and experience presenting complex information in a variety of formats and styles for different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relation skills with an ability to identify new strategic partnerships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, know when to act independently and when to consult for advice on decision-making.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships and coordinate with a pan-India team based at different locations.
  • A willingness to carry out a wide range of activities, including both professional and logistical tasks.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy with all sensitive issues and special situations.
  • Strong computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office, email clients, Internet research, and social networking tools.
  • High ethical standards and transparent working style
  • Knowledge and fluency of at least one other Indian language (Hindi preferable).
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India
