At Teach For India, we’ve built a nationwide movement of leaders who are working relentlessly to end inequity in education. It’s been twelve years since we began this journey and today we have 900+ Fellows leading classrooms impacting 32,000 children across the country, Through our Fellowship, we infuse the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem and have a growing movement of 3400+ Alumni. Our Alumni work at all levels of the education system from teaching, teacher training, school leadership and community empowerment to education technology, policy, governance, media as well as in the private sector. Cumulatively, our Alumni have founded 150+ organisations in the social sector with 200 of them occupying senior leadership and CXO positions across organisations.
77% of our Alumni continue to work in the development sector impacting 33 million, or 1 in 10 children across India, thereby demonstrating their commitment to our vision - One Day All Children Will Attain An Excellent Education. Collectively, these numbers represent the immense potential of our model and the power of our broader community - a potential to catalyze a movement for education reform and redefine what’s possible for children from the most vulnerable backgrounds. Our work will only be complete once we have built a movement of leaders large enough to ensure that every child in India is receiving an excellent education.
On Staff, we pride ourselves as being a passionate, idealistic, mission-driven team of 200+ individuals who are committed to the pursuit of excellence and practicing the values that shape us as people.. We have been recognised by Great Places To Work and are an equal opportunities employer, providing compensation and benefits at the top of the nonprofit sector.
The Senior Program Manager coordinates and leads programmatic activity with a region, thus ensuring progress towards student outcomes, Fellow development, and citywide culture. As the head of a region’s program, the Senior Program Manager develops a strategic plan that promises to deliver on transformational outcomes for children, by delivering on the development of Fellows. Utilizing existing resources to execute that plan, the role not only manages and coaches a team towards outcomes, but it also serves as culture and movement builder for the region. Finally, the Senior Program Manager holds a wider commitment to Teach For India’s organizational success, providing thought-partnership and broader leadership to building a sustainable and values-driven organization.
The Program Vertical is arguably one of the most consequential – and the most complex – verticals at Teach For India. It encompasses the core of our Fellowship program and impacts more than 900+ Fellows and 32,000 children directly. When taking into account its indirect impact for future Alumni, the calculation goes up astronomically.
Over the short and long term, Program is attempting to deliver on three impact statements -
1) A challenging yet flexible workplace in which every individual employee’s staff journey is tracked for excellence and leadership development.
2) A work environment in which employees’ holistic well-being is a core priority, enabling people to be their best selves.
3) The opportunity to be part of one of the most established and visionary movements in the education sector in India, which is at a pivotal point in terms of expanding its scale and outreach while working with changemakers across the country.
4) Access to connections and resources from the global Teach For All network that includes partner organisations spanning over 50 countries across 6 continents.
5) Remuneration that is competitive with Indian NGO pay scales and a benefits package that includes extensive medical insurance and maternity coverage for both parents.
