About SAATHII and PPP PPTCT Program :

Solidarity and Action Against The HIV Infection in India (SAATHII), a registered non-profit organization, was founded with a vision to stabilize and reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in India and ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS receive un-stigmatized, affordable and quality care, support and treatment. Headquartered in Chennai, with operations in over 25 states and union territories of India.

SAATHII, for its Global Fund supported project, has been providing technical assistance to Private Health Facilities in facilitating scale up of Integrated Counselling and Testing centers (ICTC)/ Prevention of Parent To Child Transmission (PPTCT) services in Private Health Sector in all the districts of Andhra Pradesh. As mandated by NACO, SAATHII in 2018 has also been providing assistance to the public sector facilities in strengthening follow-up services to the HIV positive pregnant women/mothers and at their exposed babies. This project is being implemented in coordination with National AIDS Control Organization and Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society.

Position summary:

The position requires program implementation experience and technical knowledge on HIV/ AIDS and PPTCT, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant working experience. The key responsibilities of the officer is to support the BSD division of Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society for strengthening PPTCT program.

Educational qualifications and skills required for the position:

The ideal candidate must be a post graduate in social work / social sciences/ management with an experience of at least 2-3 years in HIV/AIDS counselling, prevention, care, support, treatment services and mentoring.

• Good written and oral communication skills in English and Telugu language
• Proficient in use of computers and internet applications
• Analytical and documentation skills
• Should be based at the APSACS office
• Ability to advocate and coordinate with state level and district level key stakeholders for MCH and HIV
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and meeting timelines
• Accepts and ensures rigor in program implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Basic Service Division of APSACS for the activities under the state PPTCT program
• Support BSD PPTCT data analysis and reports necessary for making presentations for SACS review meetings
• Coordinate with State level and district level key stakeholders of HIV and MCH programs for strengthening PPTCT program
• Coordinate with Svetana EMTCT program team of SAATHII-Hyderabad and attend to the PPTCT program requirements.
• Participate in Svetana monthly and quarterly review meetings and follow the reporting formats of the organization
• Comply with SAATHII’s organization policy for programmatic, financial and administrative aspects
• Act as an interface between SAATHII and SACS / DAPCUs for smooth implementation of the program
• Support SAATHII, SACS and DACPUs for necessary documentation, communication and approvals for implementation of EMTCT budget activities in the state
• Coordinate with SACS and DAPCUs on PPTCT program challenges and the progress for necessary action
• Coordinate with district health officials for ensuring communication from SACS and NHM is reached for enhanced coverage of all the pregnant women for HIV and Syphilis screening.
• Attend EMTCT committee review meetings, HIV committee reviews, SOC etc.
• Any other work / responsibility as required by SAATHII Svetana PMTCT program
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 days travel in a month to the DAPCU office or HIV service centers and PPP sites to support PPTCT program of BSD and improve reporting.
