About Vidhi

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (“Vidhi”) is an independent think tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. Vidhi is committed to producing legal research of the highest standard with the aim of informing public debate and contributing to improved governance. Vidhi works with Ministries of the Government of India and State Governments, as well as other public institutions, providing research and drafting support at various stages of law-making. Vidhi also conducts and freely disseminates independent research in areas of legal reform which it believes is critical to India’s future. ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Communications & Advocacy Manager will work on projects geared towards building a global brand identity for Vidhi, and generating communication material for impact. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting research content interpretation for website and social media channels particularly through inputs on design; editing written summaries & blogs, and helping generate audio-visual content as required;
  • Supporting writing media pitches, press releases, and media opportunities to build Vidhi’s brand value;
  • Maintaining records of media coverage and collating analytics and metrics; mapping influencers;
  • Managing regular website CMS, website agency, and sharing content on Vidhi’s social media channels;
  • Managing the mailing list on Mailchimp; working on external newsletters; event mailers; special mailers; targeted outreach;
  • Generating content for events; event coordination and management;
  • Supporting advocacy efforts and; partnerships within the organisation;
  • Contributing to organisational communications strategy building & ideation especially for leveraging topicality to create visibility for Vidhi’s research;
  • Any other communications requirements that may evolve in line with the skills of the person over time.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A postgraduate degree in Communications, Mass Media, Public Relations, and demonstrated interest in research in the social sector;
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience, with exposure to research essential;
  • Excellent command over English and writing skills;
  • Prior experience of working with website Content Management Systems (CMS) , such as WordPress, softwares like Mailchimp, and managing events an advantage;
  • Young, dynamic, keenness to learn, ability to absorb and process research cutting across themes;
  • Maturity to work amicably in a central role requiring working with multiple people across the organisation.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can take initiative.

PROPOSED SALARY

  • Proposed salary – starting at Rs 7.8 lacs per annum, commensurate with experience.
