Social Media Executive

Safe in India Foundation (“SII”) seeks a passionate experienced individual to help develop and execute its social media strategy on a full-time/part-time consulting basis.

SII, a Community Service Organisation, founded by alumni of IIMA, and advised by a senior Council of Advisors, is engaged in three key social-impact areas:

(a) assisting workers injured in Gurgaon-Faridabad factories with their ESIC healthcare and compensation,

(b) using this experience to help improve ESIC processes for about 14 crore Indians depending directly or indirectly on ESIC and,

(c) using this evidence to improve safety in Indian auto-sector supply chain to reduce such accidents for more than 3 crore workers.

Since 2016, SII has assisted 2,700+ workers with healthcare and compensations (value in excess of Rs 20 crores), influenced ESIC in numerous process improvements, and started accident prevention initiative with Central/State ministries, their relevant agencies and the auto-sector and its apex associations.

Role: Safe In India Foundation is looking for a committed professional to continually develop and execute its social media strategy to (a) raise awareness of worker-safety issues among stakeholders especially auto-sector, its owners, managers and employees; central and state government, workers and buyers of cars and two-wheelers (b)  ‘empower Indian workers through  knowledge’ of ESIC services and safety.  

The role will include the following: 

Define the plans and activities to achieve Safe in India social media strategy.
Increase engaged organic follower base of Indian workers, especially those working in the auto-sector, through social media eg. our Hindi facebook page. 

Increase engaged organic follower base of supporters of the cause of Indian workers and of Safe in India Foundation through social media eg. Our English facebook page, and twitter. 

Increase followership and engagement on twitter to be able to influence the discussions on ESIC and worker safety, esp in the Indian auto-sector.

Increased use of our Youtube channel for increased impact.

Create content (eg. short videos/infographics/etc) for social media with workers/staff/external parties.
 

Any other social media methodology, to achieve the above SII aims, that you may wish to suggest.

Requirements: 

 (a) At least 2/3 years’ experience in social media/communications/related role,

(b) Strong Hindi and English Communication skills,

(c) Minimum graduate qualification; ideally post-graduate

(d) Genuine ability to empathise with the cause of Indian workers in line with our values and to help improve workers conditions

(e) Willingness to work and engage with the worker community

(f) Location ideally Gurgaon, else Delhi,

 (g) Commitment to this role for at least 2-3 years to prove success in the role and its social impact.
 

Remuneration: Competitive NGO remuneration, based on skills and experience
