About Sashakt Foundation
Sashakt Foundation was established in October 2016 by Pratik Kumar who is a social sector specialist having a career spanning over two and a half decades in the UN, International NGOs, Indian Government and the private sector. He is the also the President of Prayatna, a society that works on Gandhian principles. He is also a Director with ‘Aakar Social Ventures’, an NGO that works on Menstrual Hygiene and the NGO ‘Build a Class’ which works on last mile education. Apart from this he is an advisor and Board member of several other organisations.
The word ‘Sashakt’ is a Hindi word that means ‘empowered’ or ‘strengthened’. Sashakt Foundation believes that the human race and the natural habitat need to thrive together for mankind to be better off in the long run. We believe in creating a future where mankind is empowered and mother-nature strengthened because only together we can ensure benefits can be sustained. While the task looks enormous, we had to make a start somewhere. This is where Sashakt has chosen to focus on catalytic spaces that will have a multiplier effect on how people and planet can do better, potentially forever. In the people space we work with Adolescent girls and the planet space we work on Environment and Sustainable development.
ADOLESCENT GIRLS EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM – USING SPORTS AS A TOOL
This program focusses on empowerment of adolescent girls in an age appropriate manner catering to her needs in a holistic way. The program avoids a sector specific lens and addresses the needs of the adolescent girl in a comprehensive way. It is a long drawn and immersive programme that uses sports and various other activities to impart learning and change behaviours. The various components of the program include Life Skills, Education, Health, Gender and Gender-based violence, Leadership,Employability and vocational skills split across early and late adolescent periods. The range of sports includes Football, Frisbee, Kabaddi and other team games.
ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM FOR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES
Sashakt has a comprehensive program to build awareness and leadership among school children and communities like Slums, Housing Societies etc. to lead the fight against environment degradation and climate change. We also conduct waste management program in housing societies, slums and schools across Gujarat and Ranchi, Jharkhand. Apart from providing awareness education we train RWA’s,Waste workers, Students and Teachers on Waste segregation, composting and Kitchen Garden. For this we work closely with Municipal Corporations in Ahmedabad and other cities. Currently we run a 100 school program supported by the Climate Change department of the Govt. of Gujarat. Tree Plantation is
an integral part of the package of activities that has been stitched together into a curriculum.
DIGITAL and FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM
Sashakt is implementing a comprehensive digital literacy program with 20 schools in Ranchi and Bokaro districts reaching out to more than 3000 students. This 45 hour long program covers all the essential topics that are needed for children lagging behind in the digital race. 
The Financial Literacy program aimed at making people aware about importance of knowing financials in which we covered everything from savings, investments, interests, insurance, net banking and mobile banking. By 2019 the programme had reached out to more than 25,000 people in Delhi NCR, Gujarat,UP, Bihar and Jharkhand.
SPORTS FOR EXECLLENCE – FOOTBALL
An off shoot of the gender empowerment program for girls is training and coaching program for
adolescent girls in Football. Rigorous training is imparted 3-4 days a week to about 50 girls of East Delhi
who also get nutrition support. Efforts are made to ensure exposure at the competitive level through
participation in different tournaments. Some Football coaches are AIFF Level C & D level certified
Consultancy
Sashakt also provides consultancy on programme strategy, delivery, setting up systems and processes,
monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement, fund raising, communication, mentoring senior
leadership and conducting change management exercises.

Preferred Candidate Profile
 Strong self-motivated person.
 Master’s degree in Social Work / any other Social Sciences/Marketing /Management or similar
 5 + years’ Experience of working in the Social sector.
 Knowledge of key social sector issue and programmes
 Experience of working with Communities, NGOs, donors and Government
 Strong Communications Skills both verbal and written
 Ability to lead a team
 Strong experience of designing and implementing programs
 Experience of field work at community level
 Capacity to conduct basic research
 Basic understanding of M&E, Documentation and reporting
Job Profile
 Support Director in managing and delivering programmes.
 Build strategy, content and monitor programmes
 Support Director to build partnerships with various stakeholders like Corporates, Govts., donors
and Institutions.
 Lead creation of the programme and business development plans
 Write reports, proposals and follow up with all stakeholders.
 To work towards financial targets and sustainability targets
 To manage relationships with all key stakeholders in terms of regular quality reporting and
timely updates
 Coordinate with other departments as and when required
 Contribute to external communication requirements of the organisation.
 Represent organization at various forums as and when needed.
Desired Competencies
 Knowledge of children, youth, women and community programmes
 Understand basic behavioral change concepts and human psychology
 Familiar with social issues like child rights, health, gender, education, sustainability among
others
 Be ready to travel up to 7-10 Days/Month
 Experience of having managed programmes and/or raised funds before.
 Ability to multi task and take on new challenges
