The IFJ is recruiting an experienced researcher for 5 months for its new project on gender and media
As part of a project to update UNESCO’s Gender-Sensitive Indicators in media, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) is looking to appoint a researcher to join its gender equality team for 5 months starting on 15th February 2021.

Description of the work
Under the supervision of the IFJ Gender Officer, the researcher will:

Provide an evaluation of the performance of UNESCO 2010 Gender Sensitive Indicators

Help revise UNESCO's gender sensitive indicators in media

Contribute to the development of an implementation methodology
Qualifications and competences
-
Holder of a research degree in Journalism and/or Gender Equality
-
Proven experience of research work on gender and media
-
Strong knowledge of the news industry and journalism across the world
-
Strong knowledge of gender equality challenges in media, including intersectionality

Good understanding of social media’s role and impact on journalism
-
Excellent interpersonal skills
-
Excellent level of English (native speaker level), French and Spanish

Flexibility, good soft skills and an attention to detail

Good understanding of trade unionism is an asset
Working conditions
26 working days spread over 5 months
Salary: based on experience
The work can be done remotely
Timescale: The work will start on 15th February for a duration of 5 months.
