Position: Senior Project Training Communications Manager

Who and what are we looking for?
The Senior Project Training and Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies, plans and training material to support our large-scale reforestation in Meghalaya, India.
The Senior Project Training Communications Manager will work with a wide range of project partners, such as NGOs, nurseries, farmers and other landholders and will ensure communications, training and engagement activities are consistent, coordinated and efficiently delivered. You’ll need to know how to target and grab the attention of the right audiences with the right content in order to share important information or to inspire action.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Working in collaboration with Earthtree’s team and local communities to develop and deliver a communications, engagement and training plan.
- Liaise and build relationships with local organisations, NGOs, nurseries, farmers and other landholders to maximise the reach and impact of our messaging.
- Manage all communications activities, including stakeholder engagement, strategic messaging, knowledge and training management, and storytelling in support of tree planting initiatives and topics.
- Work closely with the management team and ensure that the key information is correctly communicated to the local teams.
- Build from scratch communication material to help structure and manage People, process and information flows.
- Help build communication bridges between the different teams.
- Ensure communications, training and engagement activities are consistent, coordinated and efficiently delivered.
- Use and develop communication tools and channels to reach diverse types of audience.
- Manage and oversee communications and training activities, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to the Program Director and stakeholders.
- Monitor project communication and identify areas for improvement, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Development of Training and capacity building calendars in consultation with the project team and ensuring smooth conduct of the trainings.
- Develop knowledge management systems, manage online profile of the project, social media communication and messaging.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor Degree, Applied Diploma or Masters in communications or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the fields of public relation, communications or external affairs.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, as well as independently, with colleagues based in different locations and time zones around the globe.
- Excellent project and time management skills that utilise digital management tools.
- Excellent knowledge of social media, conventional media communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and develop presentations, information booklets, design for larger dissemination.
- Basic understanding of afforestation, forestry, agro commodities sectors.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong prioritisation, staging, and sequencing skills.
- Result-oriented work approach with the ability to work quickly from concept creation to the implementation of projects.
- Demonstrated experience in, and commitment to, diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, and an ability to represent these values and practices to staff, stakeholders, and the public.
Desirable:
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, governments and NGOs.
- Knowledge of Khasi and Jaintia.
