The National Institution for Transforming India is the premier policy Think Tank of India which is engaged in a number of transformational initiatives as a catalyst and an accelerator of change across sectors in partnership with Central Aayog are given Ministries and the State Governments. 

The three broad working areas of NITI below:-
I. Policy & Knowledge – NITI Aayog is engaged in policy intervention across the sectors while designing strategic and long term policies and programmes for the Government of India. Further, it provides both directional and policy inputs as well as relevant technical advice to the Centre and States.
II. Innovation- Promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by serving as a platform for promotion of world-class Innovation Hubs, Grand Challenges, Start-up businesses and other self-employment activities, particularly in rigorous technology and innovation driven area.
III. Monitoring and Evaluation –Design, experiment, quasi-experiment, rigorous econometric modelling techniques and big data analytics to provide insight and feedback to drive evidence based policy and programme design. 
NITI (National Institute for Transforming India) Aayog works on an ambitious health sector agenda including health financing, governance, human resource, and medical education reforms.

NITI Aayog played a key role in the design and conceptualization of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Manrti Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) -- the world’s largest health insurance scheme. Last year, it launched a report titled ‘Health Systems for a New India: Building Blocks’ to take stock of the existing health system challenges, and with the aim to facilitate multi-sectoral and multistakeholder conversations on a systemic approach to reforming healthcare in India.
Few current projects at NITI Aayog, the following are mentioned to provide a clearer picture of NITI span of work:
 Public Health Reform around Essential Public Health Functions at Centre and State levels
 Health financing and governance reforms: Improving governance of Insurance architecture in India; Facilitating investment in Tier 2 and 3 City Hospitals to tackle the supply gap
 Human Resources for health: Supporting states on the proposed scheme for creation of a Public health cadre under the National Health Mission (NHM); developing the Proposal for development of a central level Indian Medical Services
 Reforming primary healthcare in India
In addition, NITI Aayog routinely reviews proposals and provides inputs to policy on the above subjects.

8. Essential Qualifications: Masters’ Degree in Public Health, Economics or a closely related field in Social Science or MBBS. “or possessing any Professional Degree in the relevant field earned after a study of 4 years or more acquired after 10+2”
9. Desirable Qualification: Persons with Ph.D, additional qualifications, research experience, published papers and post qualification experience in the relevant field would be preferred.
10. Experience Minimum 03 years of experience on the above-mentioned subjects with reputed International/national organization. Desirable: Publication in leading International/national Journals and the popular press would be an advantage.
11. Job description and requirements.

• Create, strengthen and convene partnerships and networks of specialized institutions to advise and enhance institutional capacity in the design, implementation and monitoring.
• Advise and provide support on the economic, financial, macroeconomic and fiscal implications of public health policies and cost-effective public health interventions to respond to old and new challenges in health.
• To review and providing support to optimize the outcome of different Centrally sponsored schemes.

7. Educational qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Masters’ Degree in Public Policy, Nutrition, Economics, Development Studies or a closely related field in Social Science or MBBS “or possessing any Professional Degree in the relevant field earned after a study of 4 years or more acquired after 10+2.”Desirable Qualification: Persons with Ph.D, additional qualifications, research experience, published papers and post qualification experience in the relevant field would be preferred.
