Project Brief:
The Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong is implementing a project entitled “Changing the Landscape of Soil-Transmitted Helminth Infections in India Using a One Health Approach” in collaboration with Christian Medical College Vellore.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research relevant to the objectives of the project
- Provide inputs to understand the local context relevant to the project.
- Co-ordinate with local government personnel, health workers, and village leaders for the purpose of research
- Maintain a detailed log of fieldwork and provide weekly reports to the Principal Investigator or immediate supervisor
- Lead and assist the team in conducting research
- Maintain documentation for research procedures and findings for management review.
- Provide assistance and conduct training for research team members when required.
- Any other project or institution-related activities as may be assigned from time to time
- You will be required to work as per the requirement of the project/location of work
Qualification:
Essential: Masters in Social Work/Development Studies and similar disciplines
Working knowledge of the local language (Khasi)
Desirable:
- Knowledge of conducting research
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in community and research projects
- Annual Salary (CTC) will be commensurate with available skills and fitment of the incumbent as per the selection process.
