Qualification:

 

  • Masters/ M.Phil/ Ph.D in Development Studies/ Economics/ Public Policy/ Any other related discipline. Specialization in Environmental/ Ecological Economics will be highly preferred
  • Sound Knowledge and experience in Natural Resource Management, Climate Change Vulnerability, Adaptation and Mitigation, Sustainable and Inclusive Development

Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years (for Researcher) to 5 years (for Senior Researcher) of experience in conducting empirical research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, developing knowledge products (academic and non-academic) and peer reviewed publications are required. An ideal candidate should have a good understanding and knowledge of Natural Resource Management, Nature based Solutions, Climate Change Vulnerability, Adaptation and Mitigation solutions, Sustainable and Inclusive Development, Rural Livelihood Development related issues. Prior experience in leading research projects concerning climate change vulnerability and resilience, evaluation of micro and macro level impacts of interventions related to climate change resilience and natural resource management, ecosystem services valuation, socio-economic impact assessment, and research experience in agricultural and allied sector and water resources will be preferred.

 

Essential attributes:

 

  • Experience in research and policy advocacy (preferably related with climate change resilience/ natural resource management/ nature based solutions/ rural livelihood development/ agriculture and allied and water sectors).
  • Experience in working with various stakeholders (e.g. community, civil society organization, researcher, government) at local, regional, national level.
  • Experience in conducting literature review, secondary and primary data collection on social, economic, environmental parameters, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, documentation, technical report writing, writing papers/ articles for peer reviewed publication and presentation at local, national and international forums.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems, IT-know-how (MS-Office including MS-Excel or STATA).
  • Willingness to travel.

 

Desired attributes:

 

  • Experience of liaising with local administrative bodies, state departments, ministries, financial institutions would be preferred.
  • Coordination and networking with research/ project partners, organizations and clients at national and international levels.
  • A national and global perspective towards the aforementioned thematic areas and ability to network.
  • Skills in planning and designing research initiatives, in-depth understanding of policy environment.
  • Proposal writing, preparing and handling project budget, generating funds for research projects.
  • Ability for independent thinking and taking initiatives/ lead.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Professional attitude and ability to function effectively as a team member, supervising junior researchers/ interns.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Leading/ contributing to research studies on Climate Change Policy interventions, Green Economy, Climate and Green Finance, Local Green Enterprises.
  • Developing research and evaluation framework, data collection framework and strategy, data analysis and interpretation, writing technical report, policy/ issue brief/ blog article/ newsletter article/ peer reviewed journal paper/ book chapter.
  • Supervising and monitoring junior researchers/ interns.
  • Working closely and networking with local/ national/ international stakeholders, partners and clients at different levels.
  • Contributing to programmatic and strategic area development of the organization.
  • Business development (Technical Research and financial proposals) to build Inclusive Development, Natural Resource Management, Climate Change Vulnerability, Adaptation and Mitigation project portfolio.
