Position: Project finance consultant

Job description:
General: As the financial consultant you will be required to oversee the project financial health in accordance with the funds and support the partners in streamlining the process
Specific:
- You will be required to visit to project sites and will provide overall strategic financial management direction to the NGO partners as or when required and on advice of chairperson.
- You will be required to provide day to day operations to Metropolis Foundation and connect with MHL and other partners as or when required.
- Act as the regional liaison and a key point of contact on all finance-related matters with HQ, donors, internal and external auditors, and other external stakeholders
- You will be required to coordinate the Quarterly audit process with agency on board and NGO partner.
- You will be nodal to follow up on audit gaps with NGOs and prepare a succinct report to be presented to chairperson.
- You also be required and monitor the expenses of NGOs so see the project and give suggestion for improvement.
- Prepare and provide accurate and timely NGO and partner wise financial analysis reports for decision making to make and effective financial resource management.
- Lead on assessing professional development needs of Finance staff in NGOs and ensure focused plans for mentoring and capacity building to strengthen financial management service quality.
- Issues red flag on -risk management to chairperson MF trustees / CSR lead on the any misappropriation
- Ensure internal controls in preparing for internal and external audits and in responding to audit issues and follow up with the implementation of the audit recommendations.
Basic and Preferred Qualifications
B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration with courses in accounting, or a qualification in accounting (CPA/ACCA or equivalent) required. MBA or master’s degree in related field with a focus on accounting preferred.
A professional certification in accounting or a related field highly preferred.
Minimum of seven years of accounting experience in an international operations environment.
Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Web Conferencing Applications.
Proven experience in presenting, facilitating, coaching, and capacity building on financial management topics
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficient in the use of Windows packages, esp. Excel and PowerPoint, SPSS and Internet
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in Marathi and English is essential
Remuneration : 45000/ inclusive of all
