Position: Coordinator – Research, Education & Training

Organization: The Karunashraya Institute for Palliative Care Education and Research (KIPCER)

Location: Bangalore

Job Purpose:

• To develop and coordinate education, training, and research activities of the Bangalore Hospice Trust – Karunashraya Institute for Palliative Care Education and Research (KIPCER)

• Be responsible for scheduling, communicating, and disseminating activities of each project/training internally and externally to the widest possible audience

Job description (Activities and Responsibilities):

• To plan, design, develop and organize annual educational events/webinars/workshops of KIPCER, both in-house and external

• To choose appropriate training methods per case (virtual, simulated, mentoring, PDC, etc.)

• To schedule, communicate and disseminate educational/training events to the widest possible audience

• To coordinate with various institutes/organizations/national associations for educational and training activities

• Prepare and maintain records for all educational and training programs

• To schedule internships and observerships as per the departmental protocols

• To schedule, organize and manage all department activities and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

• Design and maintain a budget for all educational, training, and research programs

• To work with other members of the team and assist them in education, training, and research activities

• To help in data collection, auditing, and development of research protocols guaranteeing quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.

• To work towards establishing contact with local stakeholders (colleges, hospitals, government agencies) for advocacy, education, and research activities

• Assist and participate in other Karunashraya activities

• Execute any other duties assigned by the Associate Director

Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree or Ph.D. (desirable) in Public Health, Social Sciences (Psychology, Social Work), Medical Sciences (Medical or Dental), or Nursing

• Additional qualification in clinical research and statistics is desirable

Essential Candidate requirements:

• Be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral

• Willingness to be based in Bangalore

• Be able to lead a team and effectively work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

• Be self-motivated, demonstrate clear problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Advanced organizational skills and with ability to manage multiple pieces of training effectively

• Adequate knowledge of learning management systems, e-learning platforms, and web delivery tools

• Good computing (MS Office), organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable criteria:

• Prior research experience

• Prior demonstrated experience of working as a project manager or coordinator for a minimum of 1 year

• Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team

• Ability to work on tight deadlines

Remuneration and contractual duration:

The salary offered will be commensurate based on the education, work experience, and per applicable Karunashraya policy.
