Job Summary:
The Program Associate will be responsible for supporting implementation of school improvement activities planned as a part of Power Within project. These activities will include, facilitating teacher professional development workshops, conducting need assessment surveys, conducting student assessments, and mobilizing community support for school level programs.
The person will have working relationship with education team for various technical content and capacity building programs.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
• Support the program team in identifying capacity building needs of school teachers
• Conceptualize and conduct capacity building workshops for schoolteachers (Grade 6th to 10th) around curricular concepts, pedagogies, and classroom management strategies
• Develop mechanism to review teachers training quality and assess the impact.
• Undertake field visit to understand the quality of training and impact in classroom processes
Build capacities of project team members
• Support field teams to developing plans onsite support to teachers
• Conduct workshops with field team members to build their curricular know-how on science/Math/computer science/language
• Develop capacity building resources for field team members as per need
Support in Documentation and Assessment processes
• Document project learnings in form of case studies and blogs
• Assist project team in conducting gender analysis of the project, and incorporation of its learning in project activities and content
• Lead process- and photo-documentation of project activities and make this resource available to the Project Manager and CIHQ for reporting, communication, and dissemination
• Keep the Project Manager and technical team updated on project technical progress vis-à-vis plan
Others:
• Perform any other task assigned by the line manager as per organizational requirement.
Contribute to ensure visibility of project efforts and achievements on various internal (e.g., CARE’s website, blogs, Annual Report, Yammer) and external platforms / for a (publications, workshops/seminars, journals
Emergency Response & Disaster Preparedness
• Provide support and undertake specified emergency assignments identified as part of the CARE India’s Roster for Emergency Deployment during the time of disasters/emergencies.
• Undertake the specified role and responsibilities identified as a part of the CARE
India Emergency Roster.
• Be familiar with CARE emergency protocols and respective roles as per the functional area under which the member has been nominated
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Essential
• Master’s degree in Science/Mathematics/Language/ education /Social Sciences/related field
• Minimum three years of experience in teacher development and content creation on for middle or high school level
Preferred:
Experience of working with school improvement program in Mumbai

Fluency in Marathi/Hindi and English is essential (verbal and Written) Able to read, write and speak in local language at an expert level
