Job Description:
The Senior Program Specialist implements and executes designated program(s), engaging directly with client(s) and serves as a functional expert in at least one functional area for the South Asia region or the India office. Program delivery functions vary based on designated program needs. Typically inclusive of outreach, application and selection management, grantee orientation and advising, training and workshops development, and overall program monitoring and evaluation. The Senior Program Specialist also provides financial inputs for budgets and prepares deliverables for financial and sponsor reviews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs, oversees and executes on program deliverables including developing, and implementing outreach and communications strategies; developing and administering application and selection processes; designing workshop and orientation content, and managing event logistics.
- Available for travel and in person visits for on the ground research, outreach, and marketing of IIE programs. Represents IIE externally to promote program with education decision makers and other stakeholders. Primary contact for university representatives, stakeholders, scholarship funding corporations and scholarship grantees. Corresponds with clients, prospective applicants, candidates, and grantees. Assists with budget and project renewals for existing sponsors.
- Responsible for financial budgeting, undertakes forecast and follows with Finance team. Reviews and processes payments to vendors and outside services against budget and notifies management of variance. Maintains accurate payment records.
- May develop and implement program evaluation tools; collect data; compile results and make recommendations to IIE management and client.
- May assist with the development of proposals and new programs. Supports Head of Office in business development. Provides support for new program start-up.
Education/Experience/Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of related work experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Familiarity with international education.
- Experience in project and people management involving complex details which require well-developed organizational, time-management and administrative skills.
- Basic understanding of finance and accounting policies, procedures, and administrative
- practices. Experience managing a budget required.
- Efficient use of technology, including spreadsheets, database, Internet, and email.
- Ability to operate independently and effectively.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; research skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Essential functions are typically performed in an office setting with a low level of noise. Job demands may require long periods of sitting; telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interactions with other team members and external stakeholders.
