Role:
- We currently publish four magazines in the field of education - Learning Curve, At Right Angles, iWonder, and Paathshaala. These cover General Education, School Mathematics and School Science - for teachers and teacher educators. These are primarily print editions in English and translated to Hindi and Kannada. Over the near term there is a need to expand this work, to make the content available across digital channels and networks. Over the near to medium term, the Foundation expects to develop and execute on a strategy that would increase teaching-learning content that is available in various formats in the print form as magazines, story books, journals, books and in digital formats including online, videos, podcasts – all of these in several languages.
- We wish to provide a special thrust to Kannada language publications and in the longer term, set up the Azim Premji University Press.
- We want to focus our publications on the needs of the people they are meant to serve with a strong Field engagement.
- We want to reach readers better - more frequently, digitally & economically.
Immediate responsibilities:
- Work with the Editorial Team of the current portfolio of magazines and collaboratively produce each issue.
- Collaborate with our Field Institutes who work with the public schooling system; understand their needs and reflect the priorities in our publications.
- Plan and execute the printing and distribution strategy in collaboration with the operations team.
- Expand the digital presence of the magazines and the engagement with the current community of subscribers.
- Organise webinars with a targeted audience for topics around Publications and expand the community of subscribers, subject enthusiasts and contributors.
- Conceptualize and execute a plan for expansion of the Foundation’s publications to include other teaching-learning materials which could be available in print & various digital formats and in several languages. This could include magazines, story books, journals, and books – both print and online.
- Plan and execute other new and creative opportunities for Publications across the three Operating Units of the Foundation
Skills Required :
- Proven work experience in creation and production of digital or print content; experience in education would be an advantage.
- Ability to collaborate with the Editorial teams, across the Operating Units of the organization and within the Communications function.
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing a portfolio of print or digital content, including content creation, dissemination, and distribution.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- A strong grasp of current digital marketing tools and strategies; up to date with the latest trends and best practices in both print and digital.
- Ability to develop and execute an expansion strategy for the Foundation’s Publications.
Eligibility:
- 15+ years of experience of which at least 10 years in print/online media
- Experience of leading and managing a team across content creation, print, distribution, digital.
