Essential Duties:
- Use an appropriate and creative methodology to design and manage a research project
- Design and write questionnaires and surveys
- Apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews (face-to-face, telephone and online) Preparation and note taking in focus groups; Conducting in-depth interviews; Being trained to moderate / facilitate focus groups and workshops
- Assisting with proposal development. Collaborate and contribute to company’s new research projects/ ideas.
- Liaise with and direct social research field interviewers to gather information
- Carry out information and data retrieval searches using electronic databases
- Gather information by directing or carrying out fieldwork
- Prepare, present and disseminate results in the form of reports, briefings, research papers and presentations.
Minimum Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Ethnography, Anthropology, Social Science, International Development, Economics, or related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 – 10 years of experience in qualitative research (ethnographic methods, PRA techniques, reflexive analysis and report writing, and other relevant methodologies) and in cross-cultural settings that include child and/or community development, social development, public health, or similar.
- Familiarity with various qualitative/ethnographic research methods, such as in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, most significant change, outcome harvesting, and other participatory or human-centered study methods.
- Project management skills to oversee all aspects of a research project right through from questionnaire design to the final report
- Proficiency in Qualitative Data Analysis, including creating codebooks, coding/theming data, narrative analysis, experience in one or more qualitative analysis software package (NVIVO/Atlas.ti).
- Familiarity with one or more Indian languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong report writing skills
- Teamworking skills and the ability to work well on your own
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to work on several different research projects at once
- Experience of working with National/ International NGOs/ UN Bodies/Government/start-ups will be valued.
