Minimum Requirements:
- A masters or MBA Degree or equivalent in Social Work, Agri-economics, Rural Marketing, Sociology, or a related field is required, plus 15 years of relevant experience including five (5) to seven (7) years in a senior management position in an international organization. Experience and knowledge in program management and fundraising, as well as proposal development is preferred.
Preferred Requirements:
- 10 years of leadership/supervisory/managerial experience.
- Thorough understanding of programming processes, systems and principles, and the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at the community level.
- Solid skills, knowledge and foundation in proposal development and of the project management cycle.
- Sound understanding of value chain development on various agricultural commodities and the livestock sector.
- Sound understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of the root causes of poverty in India.
- Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges, opportunities and implications to community development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning processes.
- Self-motivated, able to balance multiple and competing priorities or deadlines, excellent organizational skills, and ability to track multiple project/program tasks as delegated to program staff.
Most Critical Proficiencies:
- Ability to research and quickly disseminate relevant, emerging and existing evidence-based practices and models.
- Willingness and ability to assign and review the work of line-managed staff and to use participatory management skills with junior and senior staff.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills, with ability to engage, inspire, build credibility and engender trust with diverse audiences.
- Ability to build coalitions, negotiate, and resolve conflicts effectively while preserving important relationships with partners and funders.
- Knowledge of grant acquisition and management.
- Strong budget management experience, detail-oriented, and able to work well in evolving circumstances.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database and electronic mail software (Microsoft preferred).
- Strong English language skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in basic statistics sufficient to analyze data.
