Brief about the proposed assignment Given the changing public health landscape in the context of COVID-19 and the changes in the regulatory and funding contexts for civil society organizations in India, this review, seeks to assess the organizational mission, objectives and functioning of a public health organization in India. The review will involve a desk review, qualitative interactions and will enable recommendations for organizational strengthening. We seek a consultant fluent in English, and Hindi and to support the assignment.

Scope of Work:

• Support to refine the areas of review

• Lead the process of internet-based review to enable understanding of documents 

• Lead the process of review of organization documents

• Develop tools/ guides for interactions with key stakeholders

• Support with the conduct of interviews and meetings with key stakeholders

o Documentation of insights/ minutes from each of the meetings/ interactions

• Support for the conduct of field visits – travel for interactions and documentation of insights/ minutes

• Development of review report that outlines

o Key findings based on the review/ understanding of the organization and contexts

o Recommendations and next steps

Time period of engagement:

• The proposed time period is an estimate of number of days; the Consultant would be expected to maintain a work-log, as per format shared and would be remunerated based on actual number of days of effort, as per agreed rates.

Required qualification and experience:

• 8-10 years’ experience of having undertaken research and consulting assignments on social development issues

• Excellent writing skills – ability to independently write reports

• Experience of having undertaken qualitative research – interactions with Government stakeholders and experts

• Experience of having worked on issues of public health and understanding of the public health context in India

• Those, with experience of having worked on issues of organizational development and review will be preferred

• Fluency in colloquial English and Hindi

Remuneration: Based on qualifications and experience.
