Objectives of the fellowship:
Develop the leadership capacities of youth to collaborate in and communicate community-based responses to systems breakdown
This will entail:
- Developing an increased awareness and understanding about systemic change and community-driven solutions to climate change
- Gaining practical experience in research methods, particularly community-based and participatory ethnography such as interviews, surveys, etc
- Learning the art of storytelling and developing impactful media outputs (blogs, photography, short films etc)
- Building essential leadership and 21st century skills

Fellows would be involved in:
1. Participating in online trainings on field research, storytelling & media generation, and climate change adaptation
2. Field visits - community engagement, data collection and documentation (fellows would be working in pairs for each field site)
3. Dissemination of data insights through media and research outputs
4. Building networks and facilitating knowledge sharing with different communities through roundtable discussions

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Youth fellows from communities across the Western Himalayan Region (i.e Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand).
2. Youth in the age group of 21-30 years.
3. Looking for a combination of fellows with either media or community research interests or both.
4. Should be committed to spend at least 6 months for the fellowship.
5. Should be open to working and staying with communities in rural/remote areas in the Western Himalayan region during the fellowship.
6. Should have access to a stable internet connection for online sessions.
7. Fellows should be well acquainted with either at least hindi or english for the online sessions. Knowledge of a local language from the Western Himalayan region would be a plus.
8. Education will not be a barrier but awareness and sensitivity to various ecological issues in the WH region would be given consideration.
9. Preference would be given to youth belonging to the rural communities from the Western Himalayan region and from communities facing ecological and climatic adversities.

Remuneration:
1. A stipend to fellows would be provided on a monthly basis
2. Costs of travel, accommodation cost, food and equipment would be provided for fieldwork
