The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s CR agenda by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm’s business strategies, reflect our values and support the communities where we do business. The Division includes Global Philanthropy (GP), Global Government Relations and Public Policy, the JPMorgan Chase Institute and Sustainable Finance.
J.P. Morgan is looking to fill a Philanthropy Associate role in the Global Philanthropy team which will contribute to the development, management and implementation of the firm’s philanthropic programs in India (coverage market); monitoring, reporting and data management related to the grant portfolio in India including that to support CSR compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Grant making, management and implementation
- Sourcing and structuring partnerships with leading non-profit organizations to address needs in the communities we serve
- Conducting effective due diligence and risk analysis to ensure that the firm’s resources and reputation are protected
- Co-creating proposal documents, budgets, project implementation plans, timelines etc. with non-profit and NGO partners, aligned with the firm’s broader strategy.
- Reviewing new grant proposals; providing clear & concise written analyses, and recommendations for funding including drafting proposal summaries
- Working closely with the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for India (GP Program Officer) to develop and present strong proposals through national, regional and global approvals processes
- Working with team members to identify the highest priority topics to undertake data analysis on in order to make more informed decisions about future programming
- Facilitating the execution of grant agreements, payments etc. as per processes
Grant Monitoring
- Monitoring the performance of grant programs, proactively identifying obstacles and working with partners to make corrections as needed.
- Reviewing progress reports for existing grants and synthesizing and document results and lessons across grants, including preparing briefings and portfolio reviews for leadership.
- Coordinating quarterly financial reporting, fund allocation, utilization etc. in line with agreed budgets.
- Working in close coordination with grantees serving as the primary contact; conducting site visits, convening meetings etc.
Reporting, data management and communications
- Owning the India grant portfolio data and preparing reports and dashboards for international, regional and country requirements.
- Tracking the grant portfolio in line with the CSR requirement of different legal entities
- Preparing information and reports for statutory CSR reporting.
- Helping keep internal and external stakeholders informed on the firm’s Philanthropic activities and programs by drafting communication materials
- Coordinating updates with the global CR communications team and the local market-based communications team
- Supporting program event organization and coordination
Skills And Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, international development, grant making, social consultancy or a related field in a sizable organization.
- Relevant experience/knowledge of India in the areas of workforce development, jobs and skills, small businesses or financial inclusion.
- High degree of proficiency in data analytics, reporting, planning and presentation tools.
- Ability to conduct research and analysis and deploy monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise efficiently.
- Excellent writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Collaborative, self-motivated and ability to work both in a team as well as independently.
- Flexible to travel extensively to project sites to monitor progress of grant programs
