RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES
A. Contribute to establish and implement knowledge & information management strategy, processes and platform (20%)
- Collaborate with teams across the organization (country, regional and HQ) to assess current knowledge & information management practices
- Partner with teams to develop and execute knowledge & information management strategy at regional level, aligned with industry best practices
- Provide inputs for a new knowledge management platform and work with teams across the organization to ensure that knowledge and learning is effectively captured and accessible in knowledge management tool
- Identify and stay current with industry best practices and useful approaches to share and access knowledge.
- Work closely with Local and Global IT Services and system stakeholders/managers to ensure new knowledge management platform fully integrates with existing Heifer tools and systems
- Conduct regular quality control over the regional content to maintain consistent accuracy of content.
B. Support Asia Country Teams in producing and disseminating Information & Knowledge (30%)
- Work with country teams in the region across the organization to ensure that information, knowledge and learning is effectively captured and accessible in knowledge management tools and that MEAL plans of program in the field include the production of evidence-based learning.
- Service and respond to requests for information from teams across the organization, helping them to navigate and understand available information
- Train and educate staff on knowledge management practices, systems and tools
- Prepare case studies to increase visibility of major country project results and activities notably on signature program aiming at increasing SHF incomes.
- Contribute to project / program proposal development
- Provide inputs and assist Knowledge Advisory team with client research projects, as required, especially with data collection from subject matter experts in the region.
C. Contribute to building a learning-led culture across the organization (20%)
- Partner with teams to build, develop and cultivate a culture of shared knowledge and learning
- Shape and influence how the organization approaches knowledge management
- Establish usable learning approach
- Train teams, and periodically reinforce trainings, on learning approach
- Create accountability mechanisms to ensure system take-up
- Develop sustainable approaches to content generation and information use to promote a culture of continuous knowledge sharing
D. Identify opportunities to showcase organization’s work at regional level (25%)
- Work with Regional Communication and Resource Mobilization / Business Development teams to curate regional / multi-country content for external audiences and channels
- Identify information and content that connects to and adds depth to current work and messaging
- Coordinate with country teams to produce regional Information & Knowledge material (leaflets, presentations, reports) gathering evidence-based information and knowledge from Heifer Asia programs.
- Participate in regional events to raise Heifer’s profile disseminating information and knowledge extracted from the current work of the organization.
- Network at regional level with learning partners (NGO, Research Institute, University) to develop qualitative Information & Knowledge projects and conduct regional advocacy initiatives.
E. Perform other job-related duties as required (5%)
- Communicate actively with all stakeholders and user groups
- Support in implementation of engagement strategies to increase user participants regionally.
- Provide inputs to the global team on latest trends tools and practices from the Asia Region to drive effective knowledge management to increase collaboration and learning within the organization
- Provide support for field offices with organizational learning plans, and respond to other strategic and tactical requests from other field projects. Support includes, but is not limited to: developing project/country subpages for learning and knowledge sharing or project success stories.
Minimum Requirements
- BA degree required, focus in Knowledge Management or Information Management, or related degree, strongly preferred. Master’s degree an advantage
- Experience working with knowledge management frameworks and data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to develop and design new systems and/or approaches in the knowledge management space with a user-focused approach
- Experience on Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
- Experience working in the International Development and/or Agriculture sector
- Excellent writing for the web, editing, planning, project management, and organizational skills required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of eight (8) years experience
Preferred Requirements
- Project management expertise, including building an organization-wide online knowledge management platform
- Demonstrated experience working with IT and backend web design/building support teams
- Demonstrated experience in collecting, treatment and analysis of data to generate evidence-based information and knowledge.
