JOB PROFILE
The Program Manager will use their experience, skills, and knowledge to direct all activities related to furthering our education initiatives. The manager is expected to lead all current initiatives as well as scope out new interventions to improve the learning outcomes in children from pre-primary, primary and secondary public educational institutions and is expected to work with and advocate change with our network of partners and government line departments working in the state of Meghalaya.
The position reports directly to the Founders of the Foundation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
● work closely with the Founders in developing and directing the implementation of long- and short-range plans for the purpose of meeting the organization’s education targets and goals.
● work closely with our network of partners and government line departments to streamline and find synergies to align with Sauramandala Foundation’s program areas related to education initiatives.
● serve as the organization’s lead education contact, handling both short- and long-term education interventions.
● design detailed project plans with associated milestones and work with internal & external stakeholders (M&E, fundraising, etc.,) to ensure goals, timelines and quality parameters are achieved using project management tools.
● help with the onboarding and mentoring of district level-based fellows with regards to the education program area.
● provide goal setting, visioning, leadership, and strategic direction for the organization and district level-based fellows.
● design pilots and replication strategies
● create and manage budgets and track progress against budgets
● keep internal & external stakeholders informed on the progress of projects
● work closely with the M&E team in creating a yearlong calendar to assess outcomes & impact.
● create reports and documents to be shared with both internal & external stakeholders
SKILLS
● 2 to 3 years of work experience in handling organizational education initiatives.
● a university degree in social sciences (Bachelors or Master’s Degree in education, social work, rural development, related fields)
● working knowledge of community & nonprofit sector
● theoretical and practical concepts of running a similar program – should be able to provide inputs on program design and operations best practices based on experience
● awareness & knowledge about ASER, ELDS, NEP or similar learning tools
● ability to synthesize monitoring data into effective presentation of results to help guide recommendations on performance improvement.
● proficiency in MS Office Tools, etc.,
● strong written and verbal communication skills
● the ability to thrive in a target focused environment and are highly self-motivated and results orientated
● fluent spoken and written English language skills are essential. Competencies in additional regional languages would be preferred.
