UNIQUE CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
● Coordinate the recruitment, orientation and training of teaching fellows for the
programme.
● Oversee and support teaching fellows in the recruitment of young Adivasi youth
leaders.
● Lead in providing on-going coaching and mentoring to teaching fellows so that they
are inspired and motivated.
● Support the teaching fellows in mentoring the young Adivasi leaders with their
projects and identify any risks and mitigation strategies.
● Lead in the facilitation of training and co-create learning spaces for the young leaders
that encourage experiential learning that is motivational and inclusive.
● Create and manage feedback loops between the cadre of Adivasi leaders and Haiyya
team to improve the delivery of the programme.
● Build long-lasting relationships with the young leaders and their communities to
ensure credibility and success.
● Support in co-creating the pedagogy for the training and ensure there is feedback
from the community before finalisation.
● Oversee the process of translating the final pedagogy in the local language.
● Support in any onground refresher training on a need basis .
● Design and lead the process of documentation of key learnings from the programme.
● Required to travel regularly to the locations of programme implementation.
● Participate and lead other organizing sessions, spaces, meetings and creation work as
part of Haiyya team members, as and when the right opportunities come and time
permits.
DIRECT COACHING AND SCOPE OF WORK:
● You will report to the Senior Programme Lead of Haiyya, who will be responsible for
coaching and supervising you.
● You will manage and coach upto 5 teaching fellows.
● You will work with Haiyya staff members across other departments to decentralise and
streamline financial and operational systems and practices.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
● You have 2-3 years experience in leading and delivering training and programs at
grassroot level with communities.
● You have strong knowledge on issues related to development and culture of Adivasis
in the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve.
● You have some experience or knowledge of using innovative and creative methods and
tools to facilitate dialogue and discussion.
● You have experience of working in a community setting and the ability to build training
that suits and addresses specific community needs, culture and context.
● You have strong organizational and management skills to achieve results within
timelines and budgets.
● You have a track record in designing and executing successful training programs with
diverse groups.
● You have strong writing and record keeping ability for reports etc.
● You have a proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
● You have effective team management skills for setting clear expectations, tracking
progress and communication.
● You have proficiency in maintaining spreadsheets and databases, strong email
communication, comfortable communicating via zoom, Skype, conference calls, and
other online tools.
● You have fluency in Tamil, Malayalam or Kannada.
