Position: Research Associate

Primary responsibilities one or more of the following include:

  1. Research:
  • Overseeing implementation of the project following the research design, in association with our partner organization
  • Managing day-to-day research activities, from planning to implementation, and monitoring quality, hiring field team etc.
  • Regular travel to the field to monitor and assess the progress in fieldwork, including supervision of the field staff during surveys and quality checks (if needed)
  • Assisting with data collection, cleaning, preliminary data analysis, and preparation of documents and presentations for dissemination

 

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Support the principal investigators, manager and other EPIC senior management in maintaining strong relationships with participating partner organizations, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Engage with relevant officials on different aspects of the project and facilitate data access and management between the involved parties
  • Develop and disseminate necessary project materials and collaterals targeting a wide range of actors such as policymakers and academic researchers
  1. Any other tasks as requested, including (but not limited to) desk/literature survey and support in the preparation of meetings and presentations for developing new partnerships

Necessary Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Environment Policy or Science or another related field. Bachelors in a related field with at least two years of work experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong demonstrated interest in the development sector
  • Good data management, cleaning, and analysis skills
  • Willingness to travel to rural/peri-urban study areas for field management when required
  • Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills
  • Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data analysis software is preferred (Stata, R)
  • Familiarity/experience with impact evaluations and randomized controlled trials
  • Two or more years of full-time work experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations
  • Demonstrated interest in energy and environmental policy
  • Good writing skills
