Position: Advocacy and Communications 

Organization: Pi Consulting

Job Summary:

The Manager will be required to create, lead and implement the advocacy, content and communication strategies within Pi Consulting’s project portfolio. This will include developing and managing the advocacy, content and communication strategies for  Pi and designing and implementing a campaign plan to reach  target audiences to build support Pi Consultant’s advocacy  priorities. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  1. Create, lead and implement the advocacy, content and communication strategies within Pi Consulting’s project portfolio

  2. Support the development and implementation of the  communication and advocacy strategies and campaigns for  engagement with Pi Consultant’s clients in support of program  objectives

  3. Design and implement a campaign plan to reach target  audiences to build support Pi Consultant’s advocacy priorities 

  4. Organize virtual community of practice events, roundtables  and workshops 

  5. Coordinate with other partners/projects on major themes and  learning events

  6. Develop and implement a suitable media strategy for the Pi Consulting projects 

  7. Create and implement to the development of a social media  strategy and produce content

  8. Serve as a liaison for partners and media and provide  communications support 

  9. Develop platforms for the website, knowledge management, and virtual community of practice; 

  10. Maintain project website; publicize project activities through web, print, social media and events; 

  11. Establish coherent and consistent brand image across all  collateral; ensure all projects comply with Branding Strategy and Marketing Plan 

  12. Work with Pi Consulting’s program, technology, and learning teams to coordinate and promote advocacy priorities with  stakeholders for targeted issues

  13. Provide guidance to Director and leadership team on critical messaging and media-related issues 

  14. Track sector and development community interest in  extension and advisory services by tracking relevant online  discussion fora, etc

  15. Lead content development and produce written materials for knowledge management and virtual platforms

  16. Draft success stories, press releases, blog posts, and other  content to advance the principal messages of individual  projects and the organization as a whole 

  17. Contribute to drafting individual program progress reports, and ensuring consistency 

  18. Conduct site visits to capture stories, films, and photographs

  19. Provide general copy-edit/editorial tasks for other  communication materials  

  20. Maintain mailing lists and contact information for community  members; 

  21. Manage, train and mentor staff on the development and  execution of communications and advocacy strategies

  22. Provide relevant communications training to team members

  23. Support other functions of the office as appropriate for a small  multipurpose team supporting start-up operations 

  24. Carry out such other work as required by the Director. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Strong Content Understanding 

  2. Strong Writing and editorial Skills 

  3. Understanding of creating diverse content for audiences Excellent people and project management skills 

  4. Strong understanding of digital marketing and management skills 

Remuneration: Competitive remuneration as per industry standards. 

Work Experience: 2-4 years (Preferred) 

Education: Master's degree in any relevant subject (Preferred)
