JOB PURPOSE

This role will be responsible for furthering Cambridge Press & Assessments engagement with both Education, PMO/ CMO units at Central & State Governments, Government Departments & Education Units/ Boards such as AICTE, CBSE, NTA, NCERT etc and with Non-Profit organisations/ foundations such as Sri Aurobindo Society, Rockefeller Foundation, Gates Foundation etc to achieve the following objectives:

1.Policy Advocacy & Influence – Impact Education outcomes in India

2.Revenue Growth - Winning business from government sponsored projects

3.Managing engagements with a network of Funding organisations such as World Bank/ ADB etc and Corporates to deploy project funds and CSR funds effectively.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Policy Advocacy & Government Affairs:

-Liaisoning with Central Government, State Government, Regulators, Chambers and Associations and represent the priorities of all business entities of Cambridge.

-Execute a national government relations strategy, including building and maintaining an extensive network of contacts and relationships at the Center and State level. Nurture strong relationships with key decision makers, influencers, policy makers, industry leaders and experts for policy advocacy

-Advocate reform and participate in important committees, forums as a thought leader and continuously monitor and influence policy development and updates in the Education sector

-Liase with British Council, UK Embassy and other UK trade bodies to participate in G2G programs.

-Submission of Government's policies, regulatory changes, Public Private Partnership opportunities (document) to the Management on fortnightly basis

  • Revenue Accountability

-Track and participate in government projects / tenders to win and meet revenue goals

-Work with Governments in partnership with non-profit organisations to win funded projects and to execute key priorities of BU's

-Delivery an estimated revenue goal of GBP 2.5M p.a or more in a span of three years.

  • Foster Relationships with Funding Organisations

-Engage and manage relationships with global funding organisations such as World Bank, ADB, BRICS bank etc to win projects sponsored by them.

-Create and nurture relationships with non-profit organisations and global foundations such as Gates Foundation, Rockefeller foundation to be a partner to their India strategy.

A very important accountability would be to manage the highest degree of propriety, ethics, integrity, business conduct and compliance while engaging with governments, government officials and any other entity engaged as a partner with Cambridge.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Work experience of 15 to 20 years in a similar role preferably in the Education Industry but that is not a limitation.
  • Prior sales management experience at a Mid/ Senior Management level
  • Adequate experience of working in the India Market and preferably in the Education       segment in addition.
  • Proven track record of delivering success in managing a Government business for     revenue, advocacy and impact
  • MBA in sales/marketing from a good institute – preferred but not mandatory

  • Commercial skills to ensure that propositions profitably meet expectations
  • Analytical & data driven to enable hypotheses to be tested, to ensure that decisions are evidence based and key portfolio performance metrics are tracked
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to convey strategy, knowledge and requirements and to persuade stakeholders and to provide clear and comprehensive direction and guidance to diverse/multi-disciplinary team members to ensure that deliveries are aligned to expectations and timelines
  • Good problem solving skills to overcome problems and resolve conflict quickly, including when under pressure
  • Emotional Intelligence & empathy to be able to read and resolve situations and resolve conflict
