Position: Project Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:
Project Management

  • Take overall responsibility of planning, implementing and managing the project in line with its core objectives, expected results, defined activities and targets
  • Conduct trainings of adolescent girls; plan, manage training schedules, delivery mechanisms and pre and post assessments for team effectiveness and efficiency
  • Work closely with the curriculum development team and program team at Nomi Network to develop guidelines and resources relevant to the need/audience
  • Support project team/ participate in conducting field level activities including home visits, surveys, meetings/ training of parents, other stakeholders
  • Understand local dynamics of girl’s ecosystem in target communities, develop and implement relevant IEC activities/ campaigns to create awareness on gender-equitable rights, attitudes and practices
  • Keep abreast with international goals, targets, standards, best practices and innovations in advancing child rights and developing skills of adolescent girls and contribute in program design and development
  • Manage project budgets and expenses, ensure proper and timely submission of financial reports
  • Make procurements as required and ensure timely and proper distribution of resources
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with local, block and district level sectoral institutions and local governance structures. 
  • Team Development and Management
  • Work in close coordination and support with ‘Work Force Development’ project teams for shared learning and resource management
  • Mentor, manage and conduct trainings for ‘training and community coordinators’ on session modules
  • Continually invest in self learning and development to effectively lead an evolving project that engages with multi-stakeholders through e-courses, research, readings
  • Identify, document, and disseminate lessons learned and best practices with cross-project teams for shared understanding and learning
  • Conduct performance appraisals, design feedback and learning mechanism. Lead team using the participatory style of leadership. 
  • Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation
  • Conduct/ lead research activities as guided by MEL team for data collection, monitoring, reporting and evaluation
  • Contribute in development of MEL tools and templates to integrate best practices and standards in monitoring and evaluation
  • Submit training and other activity reports as per standardised processes, systems and timelines
  • Ensure timely and proper data collection, completion of reports for digital management, validation and analysis.

Qualification and Experience:

  • A bachelors or masters’ degree in social work, education, psychology or any other related field
  • 2-3 years of experience of implementing and managing community-based projects; leading/ effectively managing teams
  • Understanding of project management cycle; ability to learn, conduct research activities, implement best practices with regard to reporting, documentation, monitoring and evaluation of the project
  • Understanding/ experience around life skills, gender issues, child rights, adolescent reproductive sexual health and rights.
  • Understanding of the ecosystem of an adolescent girl; ability/ experience to network with community, block and district level stakeholders
  • Be able to conduct training of adolescent girls; train, guide and role model the training and community coordinators.

Skills and Aptitude:

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with a diverse set of people
  • Good negotiation, conflict resolution, logical and analytical skills.
  • Written and spoken knowledge of English, Hindi and relevant regional (Odia or Bengali) language
  • Ability and desire to learn, multitask, innovate and effectively participate in developing an evolving and dynamic project in its pilot phase
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MIS or other database management systems.
  • Willingness to travel (following the COVID-19 guidelines) and engage with community members and other stakeholders
  • Desire and commitment to shift gender-based norms, practices and attitudes harmful to girls and society 

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and at par with industry standards.
