Responsibilities:
To support the District VBD Officer (DMO)/ Block Medical Officers and assist in all technical components of the project/ programme implementation.
To ensure that Project/ Programme guidelines for planning, training, service provision, monitoring, supervision and surveillance of VBDs are effectively implemented at all levels and by all health officials/ workers in the assigned district(s).
To guide District VBD Consultant for establishing good practices of supportive supervision in the district and for ensuring timely data analysis and reporting to State VBDCP and Dte. NVBDCP to strengthen VBD surveillance and response.
To supervise District VBD Consultant in carrying out Project activities including distribution of logistics (LLINs, RDT, ACT etc.) and supply chain management.
To supervise MTS at Sub-district level and critically analyze & verify monthly reports submitted by them. To undertake regular field visits (at least 12 days per month) for ensuring quality implementation of the IMEP-2 Project and provide technical support to the concerned staff on site.
Field visits should be clubbed with other staff of GFATM/ other health programmes for ease of mobility. Routing of the trip should be such that it maximizes coverage of health facilities/ villages and minimizes wastage of resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
MBBS with Post-Graduate qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Preventive & Social Medicine (PSM)/ Community Medicine/ Public Health/ Community Health Administration (CHA).
OR
MBBS with MPH/ MAE. OR MBBS with at least 2 years' relevant experience in Public Health at National/ State level. OR BDS/BHMS/BAMS/B. Pharmacy with MBA (Health Management)/ MPH/ MAE with 2 years' relevant experience in Public Health at National/ State level.
OR
Masters in Demography and Population Studies/ Biostatistics with 2 years' relevant experience in Public Health at National/ State level.
OR
BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ B.Pharmacy/ Science Graduate with Post Graduate degree in Zoology / Entomology / Life Sciences/ Social Work with MPH/ MBA in Health Management with minimum 5 years' post-qualification relevant work experience. Two years' relevant experience of working in a health programme at National or State level is desirable. For Life Sciences candidates, Zoology/ Entomology is must as one of the subjects at graduate level.
Skills required
Expertise in the domain of surveillance, field epidemiology, outbreak response, VBD control. Computer proficiency with commonly used softwares/ packages like MS Word, Excel, Power Point & Web surfing.
Knowledge and proficiency in statistical software packages such as SPSS, Epi Info etc.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills, analytical and interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
