Position: specialist
ASCI is looking for professionals who have deep interest in WASH in school programme and wants to pursue their career in this area. The candidates should be self-driven with practical experience in WASH in Schools program
What roles will the specialists play?
• Provide knowledge and technical support to different stakeholders for improved understanding and implementation of WASH in schools programs.
• Develop advocacy strategies for safe, sustainable, child friendly and gender sensitive WASH practices in schools.
• Coordinate with governments, and other involved stakeholders for building consensus and convergence.
• Build partnerships and convergence with governments, corporates, innovators, and other stakeholders.
• Provide project management support and monitoring and documentation of progress for WASH in school projects.
• Conduct relevant research on key developments in WASH in schools globally including Menstrual Hygiene Management.
• Design and conduct baseline, end-line studies and impact assessment studies.
• Produce high quality, user specific, well-structured articles, reports, case studies, presentation content, documents etc.
• Identify business development opportunities and develop proposals.
• Contribute to fundraising and expanding the portfolio of ASCI’s work in WASH in schools
Who will be a good fit?
• Qualifications: Master’s in social science & social work/gender studies/development studies/public health/environment or any other closely related discipline. Specialisation in WASH and/or WASH in schools is a necessary qualification.
• Work experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in WASH and of which atleast 2-3 years of direct experience in WASH in Schools.
You should have:
Knowledge of the WASH in school policies, understanding of global WASH in Schools and progress, programmes, financing, and regulations. You should also have a clear understanding of government structures, processes, and familiarity with the GoI flagship programmes of SBSV/SVP/SBM/JJM in addition to state specific provisions of these programs
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and to establish harmonious and effective working relationships with governmental, non-governmental and civil society organizations etc.
